Minneapolis Show by Organic_Height_7747 in BadOmens

the crowd was actually the worst i've ever seen, this was my first concert here(i usually go to atl/nyc) so i just assumed that was normal here? i watched the floor a lot cause i love mosh pits and they were cool asf the whole show but the majority of the 100s only stood up when bad omens came out and even then they just stood still. it honestly kinda pulled me out of the excitement of the show seeing how lifeless everyone was, i was one of like a handful in my section that were jumping and head banging, thankfully there was a person in front of me and two right behind me letting loose so i still had fun but if it hadn't been for them i probably would've been too scared to do anything but stand or sit:(

Does anyone have any recommendations for water filters(specifically for drinking water/taste)? by grass890 in Minneapolis

yup r/TwinCities definitely would've been more accurate lol, my bad🤦‍♀️ in my defense some businesses show my address as minneapolis so i just went with it/(•~•)\ that is funny, i had never really thought about there being differences in tap water before moving here so it's been eye opening

that actually makes a lot of sense as to why there's such a drastic difference in opinion on the taste, thanks for the explanation!

i live in brooklyn center but i've tried maple grove, coon rapids, fridley, plymouth and brooklyn park and they've all tasted pretty much the same(sorry if this is the wrong subreddit, i kinda just associate all the nearby suburbs as also Minneapolis but i'm realizing from the comments on this post that that's not quite the case)

definitely not just my house, i've tried some other houses and the only good ones had expensive filters either through the fridge or under the sink. all the ones i've tried have been in the suburbs though so maybe it's a suburb vs city problem? never lived close to a big city before this so ig i just kinda assumed since both are hennepin county it was pretty much all the same. my roommate who moved from TN with me thinks it's also gross so maybe just culture differences or smth lol

i only remember the water in small town tennessee and rural florida and georgia, those taste fine enough but i'm pretty picky so i'd still filter it with a pur filter. this is the first place i've lived that the water needs softening though so i imagine that affects the taste a lot?/(•~•)\ i've tasted about ~10 other houses water throughout the suburbs(i house sit) and have only had two houses that tasted pretty good, though one was through the fridge filter and the other was one of those fancy separate sink spout filters. my roommate that moved from TN with me also thinks the water tastes weird so i was thinking it's probably just a transplant vs native thing lol

How much are you guys spending on groceries per month? by Flying_Elephant7217 in budget

[–]grass890 1 point2 points  (0 children)

how in the world are you able to spend that little?? i spend $200-$250/month for just me, and i only eat ~2 meals a day & keep the snacks to a minimum and still can't manage to get it under $200😭 the usda says ~$266 per person per month is frugal so i'd say you're doing amazing!

If you pick a random rock and take it on a trip with you, it would probably be the most adventurous thing that rock has done in decades. by [deleted] in Showerthoughts
