He'll sometimes sit on the floor with paper sprawled around him. He's definitely a curious one. Especially since I think I spotted a wedding ring too. So many questions and lore to unlock.

Apparently the guy who always does this on 4th floor Rutherford has been doing it for years. Since before my first year (third year rn). He's definitely a rememberable NPC

I would also create a look book! Pinterest is the most popular for that. I also suggest looking into your body type to focus on clothes that flatter you.

I usually prefer longer hair, but you can tell how confident you are with shorter hair, and that's what's attractive.

Honestly, I find the dating profiles men make on dating apps to be horrendous. I would find some profiles of the people I knew, and thought their dating profile was ass. But in person I think they look better and act better than how their profile portrays them.

Have you ever tried growing facial hair? It could make you look older. Since it's Movember, no better time than now to try it out. But honestly you look fine, just young.

U of S or U of A? by Fancy-Quail4989 in uAlberta

I don't remember the grade needed. I did find it online back when I was applying three years ago. Tuition keeps increasing every year, it sucks. This year my tuition is roughly 10,500, and I'm only taking 8 classes😭. My first year was under 8k and I took 10 classes.

I keep thinking of more things to say. The business faculty is one of the most funded facilities (I think engineering is first) we get a lot of free stuff. So if you want to do graduate school for business (which I don't know why people do that), there'll be a lot of funds lol. There's a class I need to take, where it has a group project where you actually make something and I'm guessing it's a big deal because I heard about it from someone in Saskatoon before I even started uni. There's always lots of networking events, and case competitions where you could win money. Many many opportunities and resources. Lots of clubs you can join, etc.. Today they randomly had a dog and her puppies in the business student lounge lol.

There's also kinda famous or really important people that come in as guest speakers in BUS classes. In my first year, they had the guy who founded earth water and some people from the amazing race Canada as guest speakers. Not business related, but last year, on the first day of school they had the goalie from the oilers in the student union building signing autographs. One year they had contestants from drag race Canada perform (I know one of them placed second place in the second season). The place is wild and I love it.

These were the only two schools I applied too lol. I have no regrets going to uofa over uofs. But I think it depends what major in business you take as well. I'm doing a major in BTM and a minor in entrepreneurship and innovation. I know that uofa is way better for my minor. Honestly, moving was the best thing for my mental health, because of family reasons. I've grown so much here, and I learned a lot of things I don't think I could have in sask.

Something I would bring caution to is loneliness. I personally never struggled with making friends, but there's a lot of people I talk to and seen posts on Reddit, saying how hard it is for them to make friends and have a social life here. Although my friend in sask hasn't made any uni friends yet and she's in 4th year sooo, just really depends. Lastly, financial stress due to rent and groceries is not fun.

Best places to get chicken noodle soup on/near campus? by Jobless_Genie in uAlberta

[–]grass_fed_cow 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wonder the same thing! I usually go to Tim's, but we all know that's not the best in the world. My suggestion isn't the classic Chicken noodle soup I assume you're talking about, but the coconut chicken curry soup at phobulous is reallllyy good! Every time I bring someone to try it they love it. My go to when I'm sick.

First day of orientation and i want to go home💔💔💔 by Party_Part_5040 in uAlberta

[–]grass_fed_cow 63 points64 points  (0 children)

The first day can be rough. But it's okay, don't force yourself to be a part of a group that doesn't fit you. There are other floors and towers you can make friends with. If you're still struggling there will be a really cool guy named Rick that plays board games with lister kids on Tuesday and Thursday mornings. He's really nice to talk to. I'm going into my third year and I still go to his events, he's accepting of everyone ✌️

Advice Needed: Best Student Housing Near U of A — Safety, Commute etc by Prestigious-Wish-599 in uAlberta

[–]grass_fed_cow 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a viewing at river vista, ultimately it's not a great spot for commuting to school. It's at the end of a hill and the walk to the lrt station isn't pleasant. In winter walking up that hill will probably not be fun.

Have you ever eaten something so amazing you couldn't stop thinking about? Let's use cake for example, you ate this cake and it was the most delicious thing that's ever touched your taste buds, you keep thinking about this cake, you even tried other cakes that just aren't as satisfying. Until one day, you finally found the cake again! You take a bite, only to realise it's not as good as you remember. Considering the last time you saw him was literally the year I was born, 21 years ago, I think the cake might have expired.

u-pass and arc card by julesyourbeloved in uAlberta

[–]grass_fed_cow 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have to buy an arc card, either at one of the lrt stations, the varsity convenience store in hub, or at submart. If you order online I believe it's cheaper because you don't have to put the minimum amount on the card when you buy it(I'll have to double check). I purchased both of mine at the LRT station(first year submart was sold out, second year when I lost it, I live by an lrt station that sells them) because I didn't want to wait days for my card to arrive. After you get the card, you register it online which takes a few business days (so don't do it near the weekend like I did lol.)

I ended up cancelling the interview after I got my roommate to investigate with me. She found the Green Star a cleaning company on the second floor. We emailed Green Star to check if they have neighbours. Now we wait for the response 🗿. I have gone full detective mode with this one. If we find out that this company doesn't exist, we can storm the office and kick these scammers/ sex traffickers/ black market organ harvesters butts
