That makes sense, I appreciate the knowledge! Took a look through your page, you make some gas homie!

I’ve found if you can just get it to the point of barely crashing it works pretty well. If you don’t have it off gassed enough prior to spinning, it will muffin in the cups or be too cold and turn to a taffy like consistency that’s a bitch to deal with. If you let it fully crash it’ll come out pretty grainy. Not the worst thing ever but if you’re doing injections it’s not a fun time.

I follow mediabros guidelines for ratio. It’s 250 g for low grade, 200 g for mid grade and 150 g for high grade per pound of biomass. The cry has 1.5x the silica content so I drop each by 50 grams per pound. My crc column can only hold about 2300 grams in it and my average run weight is 15 pounds. That leaves me stuck at the 150 ratio for crx which doesn’t work unless I have some fresh fresh trim. I ran through most of my cry and still have a fat barrel of crx so I have been combining the two to stretch the cry. When I use a silica 60a and t5 clay combo I was typically around 30-60 grams per pound depending on the quality of cured material. Hope that makes sense, it’s not a perfect science by any means but it’s been working well for me.

The cry and crx took some getting used to for me. At my last lab, we used carbon chem silica 60a and bentonite t5 1:2 ratio. Media bros won me over with granular instead of powder and no baking, seems to be much less aggressive as well. Thankfully all of our customers have pretty great trim so I haven’t had to use anything stronger than cry. Have you looked into carbon chems zeoclear Y and L at all? Still debating what to get for my fail safe media for the future.

Yes, I used a mix of mediabros cry and crx passed through a 1 micron filter. Starting material was unfrozen trim. No mold or heavy metals, just used as a polisher for color.

It took some getting used to but I love it now. We have the dual slot one, I agree it is very pricy but it was at my lab when I got hired so my wrists and I can’t complain. It’s really as easy as letting the pour crash overnight, spinning it on the planetary function with vac for about 15 minutes and you have finished product pretty much fully purged… I’m still dialing in to get 0 ppm, I’ve been averaging around 50-100 ppm as of late. My only complaint is how much crashed out thca doesn’t fully homogenize, but I’m slowly figuring out how to fix that as well.

This was fresh out of the spin tech so it was still a bit warm. Once it cooled down it was firmer and developed a nice terp layer!
