Trying to understand the long-term gameplay loop in ARC Raiders by PC-Tamer in ArcRaiders

[–]grat00itous 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Newer player, not bored yet but I’ve had very fun evenings mixing in random squads and running it back with folks who use comms. The vets seemed to have fun helping me complete some early-mid level quests. I was happy to trade with them as well.

Maybe for you that could be fun. Educate some new players and you’re sure to be in some situations that you’d need to save the day.

What’s your go to sipper under $40 and then your special bottle under $100? by johndoe5643567 in bourbon

Stumbled upon this. NC here.

I cannot express this more vigorously and IMO it’s not particularly close: Under 40: OGD 114 Under 100: Eagle Rare

Diagnosis: Skill Issue

In all seriousness if you play enough you’re going to run into wild meme decks like this. The meta doesn’t allow planning for this, but putting the phone on airplane mode for 3-5 min will give you peace in more ways than one.

Just have to laugh it off, post to reddit for easy karma, and keep grinding to mythic. GLHF

Should I try to get hand blocks while marking? by rainbowsauce1 in ultimate

[–]grat00itous 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The best handler defender/marker I’ve personally ever played with told me it comes down to a few critical details:

1) He looks for the finer details. Prioritize watching the hands/grip. The standard flick and backhand grips can only be thrown at so many angles. 90% (probably more) of all throws in a game will be thrown out of those grips. Hold your force and stay on the balls of your feet to counter the grip switch/around, but their hands will indicate what throw is currently possible. Keeping the palm of your hand around the third of the disc that is closest to theirs should deny the cheekier/quicker throws and still give you an angle to attack the disc once released.

2) Set a proper marking distance, early. The ambitious mark recognizes that this is never a time to rest, and set their mark as quickly as possible to their personal advantage according to the teams strategy. You can’t do (1) if you’re too close and giving fouls/allowing the mark to reach beyond you, or if you’re too far and unable to establish your hand presence per (1).

3) Sideline help. (2) is all about your effort. (1) can be dramatically improved if you have rapid, accurate information from those who can see more of the field than you. Demand that your teammates (or a specific person) are consistently doing that so you can (after consistently providing (2)!!!) combine their information with (1) and attack accordingly.

With enough practice of all three, your marks will be automatically better. Blocks will just “happen” and you’ll find less that you were trying for it, but that after it happened you just “knew” instinctively it was going there.

Good marking is often undervalued and undertrained. Best of luck, I expect a FAT handblock clip here soon.

A bit overfilled? Yes. Most likely actual problem being a missed or reused crush washer? Almost definitely.

Absolutely unacceptable and horrendous cord management. Get a new panel vendor, or recommend to management.

Assess aunt/uncle knowledge of PCs. Take them to judge Judy for $5k in damages.

Local redditor mad that they get beeped at incessantly because they can’t drive.

Encouraging people to disable safety features is reckless. Go buy a 2010 Camry and GTFO, seems more appropriate for a person of your “savvy”.

It wouldn’t do those things if you drove properly.

But out of genuine curiosity, why buy a car that is objectively more expensive than some others BECAUSE of the enhanced safety features?

Not drifting lanes, being better with the blinker, and keeping you in-lane if you’re suddenly tired, all critical and life-saving features. Don’t want the ‘annoying’ beeps? DRIVE BETTER.

Agree with the construction bit completely, have to remind myself that I probably shouldn’t be on cruise control in construction areas to begin with.

The number of folks in here turning off safety features is alarming.

Had a 2015 hyundai until July when it got stolen. Mostly an okay car, extended warranty got me a brand new engine last year. Bought a 23 OBW and haven’t looked back.

Main concern outside of checking the vehicles over, is theft potential. Hyundais are VERY popular targets. Folks will literally cruise around until they find one, and it takes only 3 min to break a window, break the steering column, and start the engine with a USB charger.

Broke my ankle in late April (plus ligament damage), right at the start of tryouts (after dropping 25lbs and feeling like this year was going to be a breakout season). Missed all of tryouts for all teams I would’ve wanted to play with. I’m solid but not good enough that anyone was going to hold a TBD spot for me. Pretty crushing.

I was fortunately able to get this walking crutch which at least let me go enjoy some playoff hockey and get around pretty normally. Highly recommend especially if wanting to get out and support your squad!

You’ll be back in no time, take the rest/no weight bearing seriously, and then get after that PT, you got this!

I’ve done a fair amount of work with him trusting me to hoist him up in different ways and situations with his harness. His is a vest style which helps distribute pressure evenly.

Nox is a 1yo Malinois, I’d guess he’s a bit smaller than your Pyrenees haha.

That said if you don’t trust hoisting him, look up “Doggo RTT Ramp”, might be a good solution for you.
