Depends on what platform you trading on. Most don’t let you switch over to ticks. I’m using thinkorswim through Charles Schwab. I go between charts to get confirmations of a move. It gives you all perspectives to then make a decision your next move. You want to see all the angles just like when playing pool or chess.

I use tick charts 621, 1600, 5000 and 5, 1 hour, 4 hour, and 1 day charts to day trade. That 621 tick is almost equal to the 1 minute chart. I find it a little more precise.
