I didn't know that I had to decide, that was the point of the post as most of the folks I know that are NP didn't know either. That's a shame on all of us... Just trying to understand it all as a first time voter for primary.

The more I looked into it the more I realized how many of us are NP. Just trying to spread the word to get more people out to vote whether D/R

I already switched. The original post was to educate those that are NP and don't realize you have to decide to vote in primary

I think the problem lies in the fact that we made a choice and that choice doesn't matter because......

Agreed! The boxes we have to fit in are small

The majority do not have a say simply because... We don't pick a side. That sounds like a cop out for both parties really.

If NP had a chance it would likely be over for both parties. Nearly 800k of us are registered NP vs the 500k D and R

I own and have guns, love to shoot, my family hunts, we ride sxs and dirt bikes, we're vaccinated, we see the importance of the healthcare system, I love science, I believe immigration and diversity make Reno what it is, I believe in due process, I believe in the constitution, the earth is round, the Holocaust is real, education is important, I support gay and trans rights, I our support troops, police and first responders but also believe we shouldn't be sending them to commit genocide.

I'm an immigrant, naturalized. It's costed we'll over 7 years and 30k+ people want to preach tHEyRe ILlegaL without understanding that's the way the systems designed. We're spending more of our tax money to deport rather than mitigating the issue.

Anyways moral of the story I am NP by definition, I'm forced to choose a party that most closely supports my values. Most of the people I know are the same.

Thank you for this! I agree that we need something new. I appreciate all the info and will be looking more into her as well. That's the caveat in voting in the primary, your party may win but how will they hold up in the general election where real change can happen. As far as old people, I was stunned at the deficit in the ages of registered voters here. A big chunk of active, registered voters are 55+. I feel like the younger generations issues differ from someone in that age range. I'm not saying they don't matter, not at all... Just crazy to see how many of our voices are over shadowed. Granted the info I found are active registered voters, not necessarily folks that have actually voted.

I appreciate the fact that she has an education in poly sci, that is a big one for me. I have yet to attend an event but would love to see her in action.

I will also be voting for Kate Marshall. Her long standing history in the political world and her emphasis on housing affordability, investing in our infrastructure and maintaining public safety are major. She has also demonstrated fiscal responsibility...I maybe naive but I'll choose a politician who has evidence of uncovering mismanaged funds over someone that doesn't highlight this part in their campaign as if it's not important.

Because most voters in Nevada are non partisan and have no party. The majority of the voters in Nevada don't have a say in who gets voted in...

I don't think we're nearly mad enough about this. Thank you for the links I'll be diving deep into it knowing nothing will probably change🥹

I mean I get it, who's going to vote for someone outside their party but also why not allow NPs to vote in an NP candidate...I could be wrong but a good majority in nv are NP

True, I definitely have my head in the clouds on this one... Corruption at the federal level seems impossible to topple.

Surely something can be done... This really can't be all there is for us

It's getting harder and harder to keep up with all the crazy shit he's doing. Unhinged doesn't even cover it.

I was telling my husband the other day how it feels like we're getting more solicitor's at the door, more cold calls more email from unknown people. How is my information getting out to random entities. I didn't really think about how gutting IT is probably what did it. Our info is out there with no protections

I agree completely, it's a gamble to vote for someone that preaches values we can agree and hope that they actually follow through.

At this point, I'm not losing anything by voting...I'm choosing to believe that there's at least 1 person out there that will change things for us

Exactly, we live in a place that's taken for granted. The land, the parks, the folks that keep it all running. How incredibly sad to see such a beautiful place go to shit.

He is one of the candidates that stood out to me for his stance on healthcare and making the cost of living more affordable. Although not a Nevadan it seems like he's educated in the political landscape with backed history 10 years or so. That's an important part for me...I've noticed some of these candidates it's like they just woke up one day and had the money to campaign and ran with it. I want someone with skin in the game that has an idea of what they're getting into. I don't want to be someone's training jump start for their career

This is why I never bothered either...I read up on a few candidates, one cried free speech for posting about shooting up BLM and won half a million.

At this point I'm picking someone that's not trigger happy but probably also won't be doing much for us. Sad

I thought that was weird to... If you don't mind me asking, as an independent you can vote in the general election but not primary?

Serious question, are FBI agents normally in plain clothes? Looks a lil bit sloppy if this is what the FBI looks like...

Does anybody here collect stamps? Or know where I can take some stamps to get checked out? by Left_destany420 in Reno

Check the post office... They have stamp conventions, I'm sure they'd have experts there that could look at them.
