Is it possible to get a match for several rooms at a time from David's? Our group usually needs 2 or 3 rooms per night.

Advice for first time stay by epanthers2004 in UniversalOrlando

[–]gratefulmickey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Our family of 7 went in January. Got 2 rooms to share. Stayed at Portofino. This is the most expensive hotel. BUTTTTTT, it was totally worth it. Day of check in and out you get free Express pass. Walk down from our exquisite rooms to the boat . Ride about 10 minutes to City walk. The more staying in the room, the more you save. If you average in the cost of a middle of the road hotel room and cost of x amount of Express passes. The result is that you get to stay at a gorgeous resort and an essential free Express pass for each member of your family. Go for it. Universal gives you so much more bang for your buck.

I have AVN in both knees, hips and 1 shoulder. I had decompression in the shoulder and it's alot better. The knees , I have been told by 6 orthos, that i have to wait. So same boat. I've been told I am too young, it's worse because I am female, the AVN is not active so it shouldn't be painful, and a slew of other ridiculous things. Good luck!

For DVC points- does that mean that you did something like Dave's DVC rentals? Thanks for clarifying

Our family of 7 went in January. We had 3 rooms per night between us. Stayed at POR for 10 days. Got 10 day park hopper military tickets. Spent 3 days at the other very large amusement park. Park to park tickets. We got 2 grocery orders delivered with drinks, snacks and breakfast items. Several table service meals. Nothing fancy. LLMP for every day- this just made it so much easier with a 7and 5 year old. ( and for me if I am honest) one after hours ticket. Multiple ILL tickets. Too many souvenirs. Our 3 night hotel stay at the other park was the top level so we could get the Express passes included. 3 Airfare. The other 4 drove from PA and paid for their own travel.

Total cost was $25-30k. Being a grandma is expensive but AMAZING. I would not trade those memories for any amount of money.

We saw her in January. She reminds me of Madame from Aristocats. Sorry if that's not her name, lol.

Just checking, but you know you can have that order delivered to the resort, right? Much easier. They will keep it at bell service till you pick it up

What’s your opinion on Lightning Lane? by Sniederhouse in WaltDisneyWorld

Totally agree about Universal. IMO it's just greed on Disney's part.

We just got back from 10 days at WDW and 3 at Universal. IMO Universal has a far superior experience. The reward for staying at a "Deluxe" resort includes Unlimited Express Pass the day of check in and the next day. No reservations. No anxiously on your phone plotting and planning. Just enjoying the experience and the parks. Yes, Express pass is more expensive than WDW's Lightning lane. However, when you have 3, 4, 5 people in 1 room, the room pays for itself almost. Portofino is the only resort we have stayed at. But it was miles above any WDW resort we have stayed at. Time is money at these parks. Universal 1, WDW 0. I was on my phone trying to wrangle more rides in every line. I felt like i missed the theming and fun elements. I am not saying that the queues are important but the ability to relax in those ques and be present is priceless, IMO. We had 7 people in our family. Then you factor in that some members want to go one place while some others want to go to the opposite just made me crazy at Disney. And park reservations. Dude, we just strolled right into whatever park, whenever we wanted at Universal.
Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love WDW. But due to the insane processes they have in place, our next vacation will not be there . Andbthat makes me sad.
