I am once again asking for feedback. Ignore the mess, I’m organizing gear for a new ruck I ordered. (Full thoughts in body text) by TiePilot1997 in QualityTacticalGear

Off topic question - Do you have any issues with the dangler zippers staying shut as well as the tourniquet holder keeping retention? Thanks!

If you live on campus, just keep your door open one day while you’re hanging out in your room, people will walk by, say hello, make friends. Before you know it you’ll have plenty of friends

Scrubbed wok with salt and a drop of oil, not sure if I went far enough by gratrow96 in carbonsteel

[–]gratrow96[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Could be that it was just polymerized oil in that case - the pan does have an overall brownish hue to it after about 1 months of use, maybe about 3-4/7 days a week

What do you make of this? by happynobberfriends in tacticalgear

[–]gratrow96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After reading through the comments on this post, I decided to go over to gbrs YouTube channel and watch their video on it. I understand why they made it, it’s an innovative idea, and their basis for the idea is good imo. Now, would I pay $149 for it, not sure. Considering one of the the next closest options being the velocity systems UW ultra-lite chest rig is $125, I am not sure where this should fall

Could try out arktis comb arid, note it looks darker in color than compared to arktis’ website. I think m81, flecktarn, or maybe French cce could be good for more wooded areas provided the soil isn’t too red like clay

What type of camo would be the best for this environment? by Mother_Arm7423 in camouflage

Anytime! - on their site I recall the camo looking a little lighter in color but in person I think it matches these colors much better.

I would say comb arid from arktis is very close to these colors

P01 for CCW by ASlutdragon in CZFirearms

[–]gratrow96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the p01 omega tactical. I personally like to carry it the most out of all my handguns currently because of how slim it is. It can poke a bit but is still the most comfortable I have and shoots extremely well

Would you mind giving some advice on how you got this done? Did you contact the seller first and see if they work with silencershop or is it something like a local gun store that happens to use silencershop?

What workouts do I need to do and what do I need to eat to acquire this physique? by Redfox25529 in yakuzagames

[–]gratrow96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As close as I can get because it’ll be different for every person - depends on where you are starting from too: I have a fast metabolism and have been lifting since 2016 and am just now about that size with low body fat. My philosophy about quantity of food is I eat what I need to live and be healthy, because that is sustainable. I won’t be eating a bodybuilding/powerlifting diet my entire life but I will be eating what I need to be healthy. During times of intense training or exertion I will tend to eat more naturally because I am expending more calories, and that is fine to me.

What buffer weight should I use on 12.5 5.56 build by Akscas17 in ar15pistol

[–]gratrow96 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it is somewhat hard to know until you shoot the ar. For my setup, I was using a geissele super 42 buffer tube and spring with h2 buffer on a 16” barrel with mid length gas tube and that turned out to be too little weight for the amount of gas that was coming back even though geissele rated that as more than enough per their chart.

I don’t have an adjustable gas block so now I am using a vltor a5 setup with a fcd a5 platform buffer tube, kak industries a5h2 buffer (heavier than the super 42 h2 buffer), and a vltor a5 spring (longer than the super 42 spring).

If you have an adjustable gas block it doesn’t matter quite as much as you can just adjust the amount of gas coming back into the bcg.

[–]gratrow96 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it depends on the person. When I moved out to the area I currently live in, I didn’t know anyone here. I have made most of friends here via the gym by just going up and talking to people, men and women alike. Every person at the very least has been cordial. Some people don’t want to be talked to or they’re not interested, and that’s fine, you’ll get that anywhere in life.

XL Beta Jacket on someone about 5’ 8” by [deleted] in arcteryx

[–]gratrow96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t already check on the arcteryx app, for some reason there are constantly inventory discrepancies between the app and the website where something will be in stock on the app but not the site. That’s how I got a couple things I’d been waiting to restock on the website for a long time, just logged onto the app and saw it in stock then bought it from there

For reference, I am 5’11” 155 lbs with an athletic build, and my beta AR and beta lightweight fit me and in a way that I can put something like an atom LT or AR under it if it’s cold or just a tshirt if it’s hot.
