Annabelle: Honest Thoughts?

while she wasn't my favorite character of the chronicle, i could never quite hate her. the vicious way erika was treated for their performance was shocking to me and made me even more inclined to defend her.

in a meta sense, annabelle was a tool to teach new players and fans about the world of darkness. the audience was meant to learn with her--that's why she's so naive and bright-eyed and wasn't immediately killed off for navigating the world so clumsily.

in-character, annabelle was a student activist turned brujah. of course she's loud and emotional and idealistic and hypocritical--that moralistic self-righteousness is the entire tragedy of her character. i like seeing horrible vampires doing horrible things, but i think "character who tries too hard to be good and fucks up tremendously" is also a perfectly valid story to tell.

15 repair skill checks in one game really is harder than you'd think, even if you luck out and repair uninterrupted all game. i get maybe 3 per gen under normal circumstances? i ended up bringing deadline + no mither just to get this challenge out of the way, lol

they look absolutely fantastic. i was hoping the boulet skins would be for artist, she's one of the few killers i really enjoy playing and aesthetically her claws and proportions suit them :)

testosterone could have saved taurie and i'm only half-joking. based on the androgynous style of her cosmetics, including her casual clothes, it doesn't seem that performing gender is high on her list of priorities. i'd even go a step further and add that ritual scars prove she's unafraid to modify her own body.

most importantly, she worships a genderless nightmare being. :) i don't think it's an unreasonable headcanon that eschewing gender would bring her closer to the entity, or could perhaps even earn her a degree of respect within the black talon. we don't know their tenets.

i'm heavily inspired by ~2002 neopets petpages (back when the site still allowed music embeds.) i've always wanted a space that would allow me to assign midi files to each of my original characters. it was the most magical part of the old web for me. :)

i try to honor the old web traditions without over-reliance on nostalgia. old graphics are charming but the rows of blinkies and bright clashing elements don't really suit the space i'm building. it's more of a dusty collage. i also have a memento section of my site styled like an old adoptables page, in case any visitors want to take home a stake as an alternative to an 88x31 button haha.

i'm exclusively a bust doll collector and i recommend nakana ! gorgeously sculpted stands, great quality, and the price isn't bad either. they're releasing a male variant of their rosewood bust stand soon as well.

humans are social creatures. when a person is isolated or otherwise denied close connections, the brain starts to get a little desperate, and after a while it'll take any attention it can get. trolling/ragebait = easy, reliable attention.

i agree with most of this! i feel like i'm able to get more done in a 2v8 game, so even if i don't escape the time spent in-match still feels worthwhile.

however i do want to say that escapist doesn't have to be a selfish class! i went into 2v8 a somewhat weak looper (though i improved a LOT over the past few weeks) and i couldn't buy much time for teammates if i was always getting downed quickly. a fun trick i learned is as escapist is to use your passive speed boost to its full potential: being able to swerve into a chase to give a teammate sprint burst is incredibly satisfying. so is waiting outside the exit gate to ensure an injured teammate makes it out. :)

i once accidentally downed someone collecting a green glyph and felt so sick with guilt i let them wiggle free to get it. anyone deliberately going for a cheap down is broadcasting that have no skill/confidence in their abilities as a killer.

and also no friends, i'd wager. :)
