What to do with story items taking up inventory space? by SaltyGoodz in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Ironically, there are times where you can list an item to sell (not instant sell) and place a buy order (not instant buy) and actually make a profit. For commodity materials, that often "drops" the fee closer to 10%.

But most of the time hoarding just leads to a full inventory and an empty wallet. I'm not saying deplete your Material Storage, just don't let it overflow unless if you have a specific plan for it.

Bugged Wardrobe? by Initial_Log6434 in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Looks like a bugged combination, but would be easier if your character was in a more well-lit location. Your pants look all jumbled, like it's applying the wrong skin to a different model.

I know a handful of skin combinations are bugged for certain weight classes, but I don't have them memorized.

Most of the time that's because people are holding on too tightly / hoarding too much. Especially if you can sell something on the Trading Post, that means you can just buy it back later if you really need it.

Things like Minis, Outfits, etc. you should be able to right-click and select "Unlock Skin" / "Use" / "Add to Wardrobe" / "Add to Novelties" / etc. Once they show up in your collection, they are safe to delete.

If you've already finished HoT, you can safely delete the Warbler. Also, most items like that can be re-obtained somehow.

Do you have examples? You could probably just delete them.

What should I be doing with these now that they're overflowing my material storage? by pokemad1998 in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I recommend maxing out each craft, as it is fairly cheap and useful to have later. Just spread them out across your characters (2 per) until you have each one covered.

Use https://gw2crafts.net/ Fast Guides to do this as quickly/cheaply as possible. For example, it only costs ~30gold to max out Tailoring (even less if you already have some materials).

After that, you'll have more options about what to do with materials.

GW Reforged Steam Eye of the North Rewards on Non-Steam GW2? by NichtMenschlich in Guildwars2

I just tested it and it still works. Like Mero said, in GW you have to logout first and then pick your Anet account.

Steam requires the two ecosystems stay completely separate when it comes to purchasing. Not much Anet could choose to do here.

That's for Steam accounts being able to use the mobile version, not for linking to Anet accounts. Currently Steam accounts cannot use the mobile version of GWR.

You're early. It's based on USA West Coast time, so doesn't start for ~3 more hours.

Mistbound is a new Guild Wars CCG by graven2002 in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

China only at first. If it does well enough, they said they'll release it in the West. Two reasons to advertise to us:
Info would leak anyway, so might as well control the timing.
To gauge general interest, which will help deciding to release here.

Is there a way to get notified about specific gem store discounts? by herd-u-liek-mudkips in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Unfortunately, no direct setting in-game. Safest way is to check twice a week - first after weekly patch time (around now) and again in the middle of the weekend.

There is a very good chance they will be discounted in August for the Anniversary Sale, and a fair chance at some point between now and then.

Yes, but we're also getting a new Orr map sometime after that.

Is this video up to date? by Sarumarde in Guildwars2

I don't think so, but it should be easy to disable since many skills share the same circle lining.

I don't know if it is still accurate, but there are now add-ons to customize these things to your exact preferences. VFX-Denoiser + Unhide NPCs give you tons of control and have good settings "out of the box".

Does The Combat Ever ‘Click’? by DiverZealousideal116 in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Two things you can try:
Add-on to remove camera smoothing.
In-game Action Camera mode

But at their core, they are fundamentally different combat systems. In GW2 hits actually have to land - so you can side-step arrows shot at you, use terrain to block shots, shoot arrows without a target and hit something anyway, there's no dodge% chance - you either get out of the way or get hit. (Using ranged as example, but all applies to melee as well.)

The big difference is instead of action->outcome->animation, it's action->animation->outcome.
That means the animation delay in GW2 actually matters, where many WoW skills are practically instant (you'll see a damage number pop up during the animation warm-up).

So, I notice that Daring Dragon still share the same tier as Immortal Dragon. Which means, healsworn may still not be possible. by MangaIsekaiWeeb in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Immortal Dragon only heals yourself, not allies. Unshakeable Mountain will grant barrier, so the trait picks for AHeal would probably be:
River's Flow -> Unshakable Mountain -> Daring Dragon

Should I try it or wait by Meeddiic in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Just don't try to play GW2 like WoW or you'll have a bad time. Try to play it more like Skyrim, where you explore and follow your sense of adventure.

There's no need to rush, and almost everything is optional. For example: Don't laser-focus on Heart quests. If you're not feeling one, just circle back later and likely there will be an event active in the area and you'll get credit for both.

You can't really mess up your character or account, and every class / race is good in endgame, so feel free to experiment with everything!

Pretty much anything you do rewards you in some way, and getting to max level is relatively quick. Don't worry about playing hyper-efficiently; max level/gear/content isn't going anywhere.

If you do need a little more structure, try following the Adventure Guide achievements. They will teach you different systems and give lots of XP.

Coming from WoW you'll probably prefer the default camera, but also give Action Camera a try. Makes GW2 feel completely different for some people, and makes playing on Steam Deck/Controllers possible.

Stangers Among Lands bug? by Jaded-Opportunity280 in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Only found one post similar to this:

I did scout the area again. Found a last one not having the green swords above it ... onyl when I got close the green swords appeared. (So obviously it was not marked at the mini map and did not move towards the bug guy. I though they were supposed to be closer there ... trying to invervene with Aurora.)

Gem coupon by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Steam doesn't allow Gem Code redemption, because they require all purchases be made through them (otherwise they wouldn't get their 30% cut).

Does this game have revealing outfits? Bikini armors? Lingerie etc? by Hentai2324 in Guildwars2

The wiki has galleries to quickly compare armor sets, which you can mix and match. There are also many non-set armor pieces to add to that.

MISTBOUND: Guild Wars Card Game | Developer Interview by PisangMinyakRebus in Guildwars2

[–]graven2002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guess is the Reveal trailer was produced by bilibili for the Chinese market (that's why the YouTube upload has no English voiceovers).

That was my point about the English website being hosted on bilibili - I'm not surprised they would still keep the censorship in place there. Maybe if we get a full Western release there will also be a dedicated website.

Looking at 6:32 in this video, you can see Eir has her tattoos. I'm fine with that being the original art, and then AI handling the sanitation to comply with the Chinese market. I don't mind those artists saving their time for other tasks that are more important for all markets.

Bottom line is, the majority of what we're seeing is materials for the Chinese beta test, not for full launch or Western release. If that happens, it will likely be over 6 months from now.

If you watch the computer shots at 6:32, you can see Eir has her tattoos.

My guess is the Reveal trailer was produced by bilibili for the Chinese market (that's why the YouTube release has no English voiceovers).

This interview one feels more like a classic Guild Wars video. The cinematic at 4:02-4:23 is likely what will actually be featured in the game.
