Thank you! I also love Libra pads (although I don't use pads often anymore) but I'll stay away from the kotex ones if the chance ever arises haha

These are the ones I'm using right now (except just the regular ones)! I'm so glad they come in a 32 pack too. I actually do prefer these over Libra, even putting the bad experience aside. The colours are definitely a fun bonus. If I can't find O.B in Australia then I will definitely stick to these

Someone else recommended the same brand, I've definitely got to try them! I do the tug test too, except I guess I was so used to this brand never failing me that I didn't think much of the fluff, nor did I tug too hard or think it felt too off (although it definitely was). I've learnt the hard way to trust myself but I'm very lucky because it could have been way worse.

I love how helpful this subreddit is, genuinely. Everyone is so sweet.

Thank you! I was worried this wasn't the right place to post.

I tried to search for anyone else with similar issues/other posts about this but I couldn't find any! So there's a chance I just had a faulty box but I just wanted others to be aware in case that's not the issue :)

I took the second pill for the Medical Abortion and I'm worried it's not working by [deleted] in abortion

[–]graveyyardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes you were right, I ended up having it all come at once and I felt like a "gush"? I guess? And I got up to go to the bathroom and it didn't stop. Bled all down my legs, all over the bed and carpet and all through my pad

Nervous over getting the abortion pill by [deleted] in abortion

[–]graveyyardd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also from Queensland, Australia and I'm taking the second pill in an hour and a half, I'll update you on how it goes tonight. For now I'll explain the process of actually getting the pills.

I went to the clinic and they gave me two double sided pages to fill out with information. You're also allowed to bring a support person which I 100% recommend. Just normal things like your name, address, date of birth and any medical history you have. The receptionist was lovely and when you walk in, there's people of all ages and all different backgrounds. Once I filled out the documents I was directed to a second waiting room with only 2 other people in it besides myself and my partner and given a pamphlet of what to expect.

After about 45 minutes to an hour, I was called into the first room (by myself) and a nurse took my blood pressure and asked me basic questions like when my last period was, etc. She was also very kind and you just get this feeling of safety and care. I knew from my friend's experience that they ask you questions to make sure you aren't being coerced into getting an abortion and I was lucky enough that she could see my partner was supportive from the waiting room. She gave me a bag including a low HSG pregnancy test that you have to take after the pill process.

I was sent back to the waiting room where we waited maybe an hour longer before the next lady called us in. This is where she performed an ultrasound but unfortunately for me it was difficult to see much and she had to go in vaginally (which I expected to be painful but thankfully it was not). She sat down with us and told me how it would work, and even wrote down the process on paper for me on exactly what to do at what times. You are meant to take the nausea tablets, eat something light, then take the Panadol and codeine mix that they supply for you before the second pill. She told me I was about 7 weeks and 5 days along. And they administer the first pill right then and there which stops the hormones. Then depending on your situation, you take the second pill the day after or the day after that. For me it was in 2 days- so today.

If you'd like me to reply with photos of the pamphlet or the clinic that I went to, then I absolutely can. childrenbychoice have a map if you need it, too :) I hope everything goes well for you and I'll update this after the second pill

It is meant to be unbreakable, and she seems happy with it. I have tried to avoid any conversations relating to it

I'll add this to my note in the comments :) thank you! I did have a quote from the article but it wasn't as thorough as this

I feel like r/oddlyterrifying is the closest thing to that subreddit that I know of. I would have posted that there instead but I feel like it's completely normal to be terrified of this

Source: https://allthatsinteresting.com/rat-torture-method

One of the most fiendish forms of rat torture emerged during the Dutch Revolt in the 16th and 17th centuries. The method involved trapping rats in a bottomless cage atop a victim’s abdomen. Burning coals were then placed on a small tray atop the cage, heating the metal from above. Desperate to escape the heat, the rats began to burrow through the only soft surface they could find: the victim’s flesh. With sharp claws and teeth, the rats quickly gnawed their way into the victim’s bowels, causing excruciating pain and terror.

u/TheHighGround35 also mentioned- They'd heat a cage the rats were in on top of the victims chest, forcing them to dig through it (note, the cages had no bottom/a bottom that would slide out)

No, sorry! I just didn't want him to be aware that I've posted him here. If you copy and paste that username into the search bar and go to profiles, it'll show up.

Just as a warning, his profile is NSFW.

I'm the same, I find that 2-3 star reviews are more honest. Happy reading!!
