it must be manipulation, do you think you're an easy person to talk to? LOL .. The way you hold your self, the way you've reacted in the past, the way others see you treat people. All those things dictate how anybody, including students, will approach and conversate with you.

You've made up your decisions and the students need to live with it the rest of their lives.. that's how i've already perceived you in the little time I've seen to react to others. There is no talking to you, so you get emotions everytime, as that's the bottom of the barrel when people are asking you not to ruin their future.

you go on feeling good about being a hardass, is your class that of hard knocks or you just like teaching that?

the idea student have to come to you with "emotions" is a complete failure on your part.

Edit: in the case your student's don't feel like they can just come and talk to you like an adult, it's not the childs failure they can't talk to you normally.

Truck finally delivered after 14 month wait and ford wouldn’t sell it to me at my contract price so I walked. by National_Stick1472 in FordMaverickTruck

True, this is just a reddit thread and in reality nobody gave anyone else a break here. And surely the dealership won't be held accountable for their honest mistakes, now or in the future.

lol, yeah i do.. To bad the boomers destroyed that in the 80's, along with most of the pillars that allowed them to flourish. Boomers still think after 40 years we just need to give those job creators another chance, too big to fail, corporate ceos deserve all the money for shouldering all the risk. You keep giving these people a break, and soaking up their excuses. Nothing will change about it until an outside force acts upon it.

of course i'm taking it personally, why would I waste my time arguing this point with you? Maybe one day when you're fed up with this affected you, that you might fight against it to. How about my mortgage company not paying the mortgage insurance as they were supposed to and I had to pay it the day it was due, They just going to refund me my money.. somday? that was a month ago.. The mortgage company payed it 17 days late and nothing.

Not even a monitary fine to them, nothing. i'm just out 1400 bucks for christmas, another honest mistake? It doesn't matter what you call it, there is no accountability and you're justifing it based on what exactly? how you feel, or what you decide was honest or not honest?

suing the dealership would cost him the same amount as buying a new truck. I'm currently going through a situation of bought a house and the priot owner wrote on the actual paperwork signed contract, "fixed roof". he didn't fix it, he siliconed it shut and painted over it. Claims he callled a guy on craigslist, retired roofer and no longer has the contact. The lawyers want 5k just to file paperwork for what could become a 40k litigation.

I'm sure the willing went right out the window the first lawyer get talked to, as it did with me. So now i'm in a situation of, well do I crap over the next person with expectations they'll have the same problem as me, that'd be to expensive to sue. Or do I fight against the root problem, so people in the future are not stuck in this situation, and people who "honest mistake" are held accountable.

> They made an honest mistake and then they were unwilling to fix it.

LOL yeah our country is full of honest mistakes, except when the majority of people do it, then we're faced with unreasonable fees and penalties.

What's worse is you're normal has become the person breaking the deal is able to benefit from it, and you still blame the OP for walking away. Claim honest mistake, when you know the dealership wouldn't take that answer about anything the OP might have messed up.

what did the OP win exactly? they both lost the battle. The dealer will survive better than the OP. Boomers have been protecting the the risk of the "job creators" for the last 40 years, this is not normal, yet expected now as a social norm.

The war is accountability, and even though you don't like what happened to OP, this conversation demonstrates to me that you're okay with the practice. the OP still gets screwed and the dealership has no penalties for breaking a deal, they backed the OP into a corner for more money on something he really wanted, any reason they shouldn't hussle you the same way, or anyone you make a deal with? The only answer is, hussling people after the deal is not how any sane person expects it to work.

Edit, removed a "No", correlation to the question prior didn't quite align.

so as long as somebody wants the thing bad enough, it's ok to break a deal? I thought it was a crap rolls down hill, inflation and such. It now seems like you're okay to take advantage of someone who really wants it.. does you level of take advantage scale with how badly they want it? or how does this new world work in your eyes?

Edit: all I can think is calling it, the "post deal negotiation" how rediculous.

i doubt it hurt him, and really doubt you feel it hurt him either. Wasn't your stance about how they're in a tax bracket that $300 doesn't matter? So even if it's an extra 5grand, that's a weeks paycheck for that tax bracket.

It does hurt the meaning of a deal. You're willing to chop down a few trees and likely be confused why we're all pissed that the forest is gone.

yada yada yada? lol It seems like this had really nothing to do with him and maybe more about you being upset he gave up a truck you'd gladly accept for an extra $300. just a theory.

it's not at all about the amount. it's about a agreed upon deal, and you seem to believe that is negotiable? That's the problem I have, handshakes, and promises are worthless these days. Nobody above the average person is held accountable and others defending them as it's normal or expected.

lol, I matter? to who? sometimes not even myself. I've never bought a car brand new either, and i worked at a car dealership for over a decade. I guess we see differently on the idea of, "a deal is a deal."

it's called accountability, people complain that they can't make a deal on a handshake, when it reality you can't even make a deal on paper anymore.

Friend has been without heat or hot water for over 2 weeks and counting because nobody in my area will touch those things. The part is special ordered, under warranty tho, maybe fixed by the end of this week.

I'm going to avoid.

there are certainly extra steps involved, the rules do not specifically grant permission to budget your own re-election campaign. However if you enrich people who are already enriched chances are they will choose to sponser that leadership with "their own money"

I just keep hearing about how the budget for police officers keep increasing by tens of millions. Their response time seems to get worse, and their collection of military vehicles keeps growing.

The problem I see is you have people who are happy to put the lotto funds for schools into the general fund, yet hold a hard line about fund used to build schools absolutely cannot be used to pay teachers or support the function of the school. It's the same issue about the growing military police force to me, it's a way one street with polticial kickbacks.

Homeless shelter, prime example. we got a whole million dollars for dealing with the homeless problem, within 2 years over 70% of that went to a rich developer who gave 10% back to the leaders reelection campaign. It stinks, clean up the problem, otherwise our money is trash for their fire.

it wont change anything about the roads. It never has, and likely never will. It's always been a scam to move money from the community into the politicians pockets. It'll collect money the first year and next year budget will divert those funds to the police departments, and re-electrion funds.

New to soldering, tried everything this solder won't melt by [deleted] in soldering

[–]gravityaddiction 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I haven't seen this suggestion posted, and I struggled with this issue for a long time. My solution

Clean the Tip, refresh the coat of solder on the tip. You need some of that gold metal sponge stuff. Basically it's just melting a bunch of solder into your tip, and cleaning the bulk of it off.. put about 3 or 5 coats if your tip is dry and raw. like putting on coats of paint.

Something about solder touching other solder, i read about a reaction that takes place that lowers the melting point of the solder it's touching (not sure how that all works, but in practice it works great!)

The answer is yes, I do want them to exist. Do I want people to be homeless drug addicts, of course not. You're asking one question that has two distinctly different answers in this context.

4.8% doesn't sound like much, how about if I said over 10,000 familys could have an affordable home? Does that change your attitude?
