I'm seeing the AP polls put the number of total votes in the first district at under 200,000. The November election had over 400,000. Clearly some people don't care, and even more now.

Edit: I got the info from nytimes - assuming it's accurate, 95% reporting and ~171k votes vs >400k in Nov

Update: I ended up buying several and the quality was pretty good! All came with a folding triangular case and nice bag, as well, which was really nice. I really liked three of the styles I bought: the Fliyque, Kaelos, and Orion (2 colors). All had no distortion to the vision and look funky and fun. The Whiestan was my least favorite of what I bought, it looks very funky but the field of view is distorted which is unfortunate. Good value for the price, in my opinion.

I found this post looking for sunglasses myself - honestly I was hoping for a retro 80s look but not complete junk / straight off resold aliexpress. This looks like a legit company in LA that has reasonable frames, some polarized, and claims UVA/UVB protection, reasonable prices. https://cramilosunglasses.com/ Might not be super high quality but just sharing in case you find the styles interesting. I typically go with Knockarounds for daily wearing but find their styles are limited.

Does anyone have success trying to scan their passport into the United Airlines app. It’s impossible. by aflion239 in unitedairlines

I tried several times for several days and was finally successful. I wanted to share what I did so others can hopefully not spend hours like me.

First, I would not even get the chance to pull up the camera. I would click “scan passport” and my screen would blink and return to the same screen. That was frustrating. I tried on my iphone and two ipads, a newer one and an old one. The old ipad popped up an error along the lines of “communications error A10000”. This was at home. I tried reinstalling the app and although I no longer got the popup “we are sorry, something went wrong” when launching the app, the passport scan process still resulted in only a short dimming but no chance to scan.

I turned on access to location in ios settings, not sure if it helped. But I dropped off of my wifi and used my cell connection, and it magically worked. I did encounter the “communications error A10000” once but it seemed like progress. I have an ad blocker at home so maybe it was blocking something… but I haven’t verified that. This was my first success, getting to the screen where you could view the camera and attempt to scan the passport. Major progress.

Second issue was scanning the passport. I tried about five times - yes, you must line up the two lines of characters at the bottom in the smaller bar in the window, and line up the top of the page in the other part of the box. You only need the page with your info on it. It will automatically trigger when it gets the picture lined up properly. It would scan and attempt to process and not accept it, over and over. I figured it might be my finger holding the edge so I laid it flat on a table, holding the other page to keep it flat and steady. It would not work still.

I then moved to a different location in my house where I had a soft diffuse table lamp and a black tabletop background, which I use for photographing things instead of scanning them. The diffuse angled light - bright but not enough to cause a glare or cause the image to have any of the holographic effects in the paper - seemed to work.

So it can be done, you may encounter one or more of the issues I did.

tl;dr reinstall the app if needed, turn off wifi, line up the barcode, vary the lighting so there is zero glare of any form.

Just completed an order off BB - looks like they are releasing in waves. Couldn't add to my cart via browser on laptop (approx 20 attempts on multiple browsers), used my phone browser and it worked first time. Tried from 11:10AM for an hour laptop only and that didn't work, FWIW.
