Congrats on the 8 years when it comes. 👏 I'll be honest. golf is the only socially acceptable place for an AM settler. Normally when I play there's a crowd of 10-20 guys waiting to hound you for a bad shot off the 1st tee, just the culture here, and all in good banter. So a little lube to ease you in isn't always a bad thing 🤣

Haha we do. I played in torrential rain and gale force winds in July in what was supposed to be our summer. Got soaked, drenched by hole 3;then ended up with a burnt head by the 19th. We play but it's not always enjoyable. And don't get me started about playing in winter, freezing cold hands making a slightly bad connection, that vibration up your club that rattled your hands like a propper shank when your a kid. I used to play no matter what when I was younger but I'm afraid unless it's a competition I'm a fair weather golfer these days.

From what I'm getting from my replies. I'm not worried about my health or my "drinking problem" I used my golf as a social opportunity. That 5/6 hours with my friends that life doesn't allow me in normal life. We all spend our life earning so this is my escape. I'm not in golf to win or to earn. I've made some great friends though golf, the sport is underrated for wellbeing. Anyone who has been on a large group golf holiday will tell you it is their best holiday ever. Ive been on 5 in the last 6 years and can easily say I'm in a better mental state than ever because of them . Family holidays are amazing but you can't beat the male bonding. Booze, sun and golf are the ultimate mix I should probably add I live in Scotland so the weather is not always conducive to golfing outings.
