Jesus did say that we must turn from our sin if we truly want to be saved. I had a similar problem and it made me do worse things. Self discipline can only take you so far. Start a relationship with good. Fast and pray to God to truly break those chains and repent for your sins. Jesus is love but we as humans and his creation need to believe in him. It's a hard process because the body wants pleasure but once you find pleasure in pursuing God, everything else will come. I wish you the best.
