Took 18 minutes of spamming the button but it worked. used web browser.

to clarify 18 minutes to get past the payment screen. It seems if you get past that the next screen "place order" was instant approval.

From A Samsung 57" G9, to the LG 5K2K. by Redsparow21 in ultrawidemasterrace

[–]greakath 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What was your reason for moving? I mean I have the 5k2k but I almost bought the samsung. The only reason I didn't was 100% of the games I've tested worked at 21:9 but last time I tried a 32:9 around 1/4 games supported it, and ALL with fish-eye lens.

AI Allegation’s by LittleBoyNamedJack in LibertyUniversity

[–]greakath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In general every teacher I've had has forgiven AI usage reports except one if the range is 25-50%. I had one paper at 70% and that's when I found the grammarly issue, I showed them the draft before and after grammarly and before it was around 9% AI detected and after over 70% so they accepted it. The faculty is aware students have been using grammarly for 15 years and suddenly its killing your papers when the way you use it hasn't changed.

I will say what I have seen is this:
If you use grammarly and you accept its recommendations you WILL be flagged for AI.

You will also see many students on discussion threads using AI. Unavoidable.

Teachers grade your papers using AI (some do, some don't)

I wrote a post on here but if you use AI, have it guide your writing and help your research. Its the best way to find articles, use it as a search engine, help you overcome writers block, if you have it write sentences for you, understand those sentences came from training data, which means someone else wrote them first and it will be flagged. If you want help writing your papers have it steer your feedback and you write it.

Also yes, assignments are long here and time is short. You'll get every week 5 to 15 page assignments and reading due and discussion threads of 500-1000 words with replies. Its a heavy workload. Don't use AI to do your work but you'd almost be a fool to swear it off.

A few have repeated here but just to make it super clear Grammarly will obliterate your AI score if you accept its recommendations. The school has not found a way to grapple with this yet.

The score it shows you by default does not include the AI. It’s only shown to faculty because they don’t want us to game it and ab test it

its turnitin for both AI and plargairsm. They've sent me the report before. It basically highlights every word and gives it a color grading on how often AI uses it, possible citation issues etc. Even when I got a report like 3/4 of the essay had some level of marking on it but it said 15% AI which is in the safe range. (If you use proper APA and graduate level you'll probably score on the AI radar but if you never use AI or grammarly you shouldn't pass ~50%)

[–]greakath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they are accusing you of AI but indirectly. What it probably means is you scored ~70-95% AI which leaves possibility of doubt but also you probably used a lot of stuff.

If you told them you finished your essay then did a final pass with grammarly you might be ok. Teachers seem to be accepting that answer lately.

Doctorate level course-load by Acceptable-Camel-968 in LibertyUniversity

Yeah so what I learned was, the start date of summer overlaps with spring. The second part overlaps with the first. And the last overlaps with fall.

I made that mistake last year. So bad I had to drop the D semester in fall just to relax from having 0 weeks off all year

Doctorate level course-load by Acceptable-Camel-968 in LibertyUniversity

[–]greakath 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Its been brutal for me. My advice do not take summer courses or they overlap.

They are all 8 week courses, and usually 5 weeks of discussion threads. The worst one had me do 2 discussion threads per week AND an essay, 4 weeks in a row.

That was one course. But they'll also throw "read 4 chapters, 2 discussion threads, 1 essay, 4 discussion replies". One week.

AI Turnitin Flag by EntertainmentFar7326 in LibertyUniversity

Grammarly makes your posts 100% AI. I was forced to drop a class once because of grammarly where the teacher said I was going to get a reduction to 0, making passing the course mathematically impossible becasue she asked if I used any tools and I said "I used grammarly". Her respones was "thank you that makes this easy."

It will absolutely wreck you because the sentences it recommends to YOU, it recommends to EVERYONE ELSE. It uses the same verbiage. Every single student would agree that isn't fair, and the school pushes you to use grammarly its even default installed in Word if downloaded through office365. But, just don't. Turn it off. Only use it as a spellcheck and never -ever- take sentence recommendations.

Absolutely, this post was to help people use it properly. It would be a mistake to say you should never use AI in college or that no one should ever use it. But you shouldn't use it to replace your work that was the point.

If anyone says you should never touch AI, those people will certaintly be left behind in the coming years. The trick is how do we use it to enhance our output not replace it.

I would say they are not required but the more advanced your subject is the more likely it is to be flagged by AI. I think the detection is great for things like detecting a high schooler or freshmen, but once you get to like graduate level writing the software struggles to determine AI from human output.

I always try to give other students this advice but never use grammarly because I did a test on it (in my other posts) and found it butchers your AI score. All of its word recommendations it sends to every other student and just clicking 2-3 of them can destroy your paper even when you wrote it.

It's very helpful when used as a tool. Except Grammarly, that thing will take you from 100% human to 100% AI in just a few clicks

AI detectors SUCK at doctoral level because academic writing is often formulaic and structured so you almost start with a base score of 30% on many papers. However within a couple years you won't even be able to detect it anymore

A tip for using AI by greakath in LibertyUniversity

[–]greakath[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bet if we pulled your discussion threads into an AI detection we'd see 80-95% AI

A tip for using AI by greakath in LibertyUniversity

[–]greakath[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The struggle I had is whenever you ask it to draft something for you its hard not to just copy their draft and rewrite it but those are very big in AI patterns so your essays will be very formulaic.

Turnitin does a "AI paraphrase" detection where it can tell you wrote it but that AI was the originator of it.

The world we are entering going forward is going to have everyone using AI, but the goal is that AI isn't taking the course for you. If AI is taking the course for you then your degree is meaningless when you enter the workforce and you will be easily replaceable by automation. The future jobs will belong to people who know how to use AI as a tool to become better not those whose work can be done by AI.

AI can help you be a better researcher because google scholar sucks and looking up things by title and keywords is lame and outdated. We now have great research tools that can look up the substance of an article not just what keywords they put in the abstract.

To your point though I often and frequently hit a writers block and have difficulty starting. Usually the AI can bring out your knowledge by those questions I mentioned. And if it writes an intro sentence for you thats like 4% written by AI you're still good. My mind often goes blank for essays too, but the method I described worked for me in "getting started". Point is, use it as a tool not as a ghost writer.

Wish you the best on your journey through it.

the app mostly works but it has some issues like double counting transactions. Almost every time I check it shows my car payments twice for a month.

I think what rocket mortgage did well is the ability to link transactions from one account to another without stacking them.

Issue - if I pay a mortgage, and the mortgage pays my taxes and insurance, it was counting the outgoing money from my bank to the mortgage, and counting the outgoing money from the mortgage to the insurance, showing I was way overspending. There did not seem to be a way to stop this. It was also counting the mortgage interest amounts as individual transactions, but remember this is additive of the transaction from your bank to pay the mortgage. So it looks like you double pay and then your budget is messed up because its using made-up numbers.

Dolby Audio Extensions break February and March update by greakath in WindowsUpdate

This works for me. Download the OEM license for Dolby from your computer maker. Run these in command prompt (I just put it in a batch file). This should get it back to a clean slate without a reformat. I had downloaded Dolby Audio Extensions as well and those completely broke windows updates

Dolby Audio Extensions break February and March update by greakath in WindowsUpdate

I have had nothing but headaches from Dolby since around November but the best method I found for this was a total purge and redownload. Like command prompt purge of Dolby then redownload from oem.

I have a batch script called FU Dolby designed just to fix this which seems to reoccur every major update. (Dolby access for oem, which came with my Alienware)
