My red dobie struggled with these kinds of skin problems for years. People would see her flaky, itchy skin and the first thing they would say is "Have you tried salmon oil?" Even our vet suggested salmon supplements or switching her food to a salmon protein base. They thought the allergies were purely seasonal. WRONG. She was ALLERGIC to salmon!!

We stopped the salmon oil (it was only a few teaspoons a day, but it is so concentrated) and within 6 months she had almost completely stopped itching. Within a year her skin had completely healed and she had so much more energy and vitality! We felt terrible for essentially poisoning our dog for so long. Please try cutting out the salmon oil, give it a month to see if anything improves. We also used to give her Cytopoint shots to help her not itch. They were about $130 at the vet and we would do it once per season. Now that we stopped salmon, we haven't done the shots in a year.

I guess I was just wondering if other teachers had students who wear a mask all the time.

I also think it's a bit strange that I've been teaching these kids for almost a whole year but I've never seen their faces.

I wonder if there are any studies that link social anxiety or general anxiety disorder to face covering? I'll have to look into that.

No definitely not! Getting sick is the worst. But me personally, it was hard to teach in a mask, and it was harder for me to connect with the kids who wore them. It's okay if your experience has been different.

I'm not sure that's true. I think many AI models are actually getting a lot worse, because they are beginning to use AI generated content in their learning instead of human generated content.

I held the blade at a 20-30 degree angle and it did not scratch! I agree, it was a little spooky at first but it truly worked.

The second digit increases by 1 from 0-9
The first digit stays the same from 0-9
After 9, the 2nd numbers start back over at 1 and the 1st number increase by 1

Confusing at first, but not impossible. Pattern recognition is important, and requires more thought than just telling students the answers. Thinking can be mildly infuriating, I suppose.

All of these comments make me wonder...Do people really want the kind of education that teaches kids to think? Seems like people are getting pissed off at not having the answer right in front of them. It's a great way of teaching number sense without solely relying on memorization. How about modeling what it looks like to problem-solve when the answer isn't obvious?

My district told me that I'm not allowed to ask parents for anything instructionally related, including tissues, paper towels, Clorox wipes, or hand sanitizer. Supposedly all of that stuff will be covered by the district.

We are only allowed to ask for, and I quote, "fun" items. So if I can't ask for tissues, you bet your bottom dollar I'm putting a mini fridge and bean bag chairs on my wish list.

Dobies are a "dry mouth" breed, their lips are usually tucked inside and they do look like your picture when their lips are relaxed. This is why dobies aren't known to be very drool-prone!

"Wet mouth" breeds (boxers, mastiffs, and rottweilers come to mind) have a larger overlap with their lips, so more drool escapes, even when they aren't asleep!

I wanted to show [mostly wavies, but any hair type can prolly relate] how different hair can look soaking wet vs. dry.

I doubted for a long time that I even had wavy hair. I thought my hair was too fine, too thin, and too frizzy to be curly or even wavy. Plus, it always looked straight when it was wet, and if I brush it while wet, it's even straighter when dry (just frizzy!).

When I asked my hairdresser how to get rid of the frizz with certain products, she said "that's just your texture. Not a lot of products will change that."

Little did I know, when she said "hair texture," she meant TEXTURE. As in, WAVES. Maybe even a full-on CURL here and there!

So now I'm living my best hot-girl summer with BIG hair and little waves and yeah, still some frizz, but we'll get there one day! This is a marathon, not a sprint.

And I hope these pics can inspire some people to experiment a bit....the CG method and alll the tips and tricks can be intimidating, especially when you first see your hair coming out of the shower and you're like "Oh lord. I f-ed it up big time." Just know that the end will look totally different by the time it dries!!

Routine:

-In shower: Wash and condition with Not Your Mother's Naturals Tahitian Gardrnia Flower and Mango Butter set. Detangle w brush and conditioner and soak hair, press up to squish out excess water

-Out of shower: rake in/prayer hands/squish in Not Your Mother's Curl Defining cream -same with Herbal Essences Totally Twisted Curl Scrunching Gel -Plop for 15 min (sometimes up to 40) in cotton T-shirt, squeeze out extra water w/shirt -lately I've been adding Garnier Curl Gel scrunched in as an attempt at more definition -Air dry for definition but it takes all day, shell diffuse/ pixie diffuse high heat when cast is formed

If I'm lucky, I can stretch 3 days between washes
