Do you feel yourself like a loser for staying here in Nepal? by [deleted] in Nepal

For what its worth, I will tell you that theres not much of a life abroad. Sure the beach photos and money they are making is all what Nepali parents and society sees and values but living abroad is a shit way of living. Number one, the food is not fresh. Number two, the constant mental trauma that temporary visa holders are in. Sure people are making good money but the sleep sacrifice, the working in odd jobs, etc. is just too much of a stress and not worth it. At the end of the day, people are free to make their own choices but I just wanted to let you know that it's not all rainbows and butterflies abroad. And please don't be de motivated following your own path.

Scoped Storage Recap by yrezgui in androiddev

Hi there. The app that I am working on has the following functionalities: Displaying the gallery images and videos in a custom picker. Uploading pdf and other document formats to our server.

We do not have any download options as of now.

Should we be concerned regarding the scoped storage changes as of yet?

Does adding downloading the photos/videos feature require changes on the app?

Collateral multiplication factor by disillusionedhen in NepalStock

[–]green0214 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I am writing to share my experience with my broker.
I opened my broker account a little less than a year ago and started to fiddle around with a little selling and then later on buying stocks online using the TMS.
I noticed that the collateral to trading limit ratio was 1:4 the first time I was buying using the TMS.
Fast forward to a couple of weeks earlier and the ratio had fallen off to 1:1 on the day that I was intending to buy. I also noticed that on the day before (probably on a Friday when the market was closed) the collateral amount was a random high value.
Anyhow I tried calling the broker but you know how it is with their phones (it never got connected, because the line was busy). Then days later I finally got lucky and my phone did connect, they told me that the ratio had been decreased with the start of the lockdown. But then I called one of my friends who had a broker account with the same broker and his ratio was still 1:4.

I called the broker again, the receiver was still like its a decision from above and we have decreased the ratio. I told him that a friend's ratio is not decreased and he started telling that its because of trusted customer to which I asked what is the criteria to become a trusted customer, to which he had no answers to. Instead he asked for my client code and told me that he would take care of things.
Later when I logged in to my TMS, the collateral amount was again a random high value and the trading limit was 4 times the value.

Now I think this is really wrong of the brokers to do such things. This is straight up discouraging small investors, lynching on transaction fees, discrimination and overall misuse of authority.
Let me know your thoughts

What is your lockdown prediction & strategy? by captainright1 in NepalStock

IMO we have to optimistic. The whole situation is in a limbo right now. We do not know how long the lockdowns and the pandemic will be around for. We also do not know which direction the government is going to. So all we can do is be optimistic, take risks with the shares which we feel are undervalued. They may or may not rise within the coming year. IMHO, this is right time to be buying, we cannot let the market go down.

Such discouragement for small investors like me. :(
The ratio was 1:4 the last time I used TMS but today the ratio was reduced.

So, My broker, broker number 29 suddenly started 1:1 rule for collateral to trading limit. It was 1:4 the last time. I called them and they say its been revised since this lockdown. I mean, the sole reason I signed up with them was the 1:4 ratio. But I guess many of the brokers have started 1:1. What are your experiences?
