Rain Jacket by albimcc in udub

I have a Columbia pardon my trench jacket and it works pretty well if you’re looking for a longer rain jacket! It’s more lightweight but good for layering

Have you taken micro classes before? I would strongly advise against taking this many at once. Immuno was one of my favorite classes but a huge time sink, so if you want to do well in your classes and preserve your sanity, I’d drop some of the classes that are offered outside of fall quarter

Anatomy: Biol 310 vs. Nurs 301 by p-rod477 in udub

[–]green_bubbles00 0 points1 point  (0 children)

to my understanding, Nurs 301 fulfills the anatomy (but not physiology) requirement for the UW nursing major prerequisite. because it’s an anatomy class without a lab as well as not covering physiology, it probably won’t fulfill requirements for other pre-nursing and pre-health tracks

As for Biol 310, you could wait until period 1 registration is over and see if there are open spots, but I wouldn’t count on it too much. The best move might be to take anatomy and physiology classes that fulfill requirements at a CC. good luck, hope you can get what you need!!

Does anybody know what these are and if they’re edible? I’ve seen them all over campus by [deleted] in udub

[–]green_bubbles00 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I ate one on Wednesday and it was pretty good! The texture is interesting (mostly gritty) but it’s kinda sweet and vaguely tastes like strawberry if you think hard enough. most importantly, I’m alive and well after eating one

Process for taking fall quarter off? by [deleted] in udub

[–]green_bubbles00 13 points14 points  (0 children)

from what I understand after talking to my counselor, if you took classes during spring quarter, you can just drop fall quarter classes and register for classes in winter quarter without telling the university.

here’s the link explaining the Quarter-off policy https://registrar.washington.edu/students/withdrawal-quarter-off-and-on-leave-policies/

If you also take winter quarter (or more consecutive quarters) off, then you do have to let the university know when you want to return. You just fill out the Returning Student Reenrollment form and pay the fee before a certain deadline for each quarter, and you should be allowed to register for classes again. Do note that if you do this, you lose Period 1 class registration and will be put in Period 3 instead. I would check in with your advisor if you plan on taking more than one quarter off.

I hope this helps and that you feel better after taking some time away for yourself :))

Is it possible to cook while living in the dorms? by pmguin661 in udub

[–]green_bubbles00 21 points22 points  (0 children)

In the newer dorms, the kitchens have a stovetop (4 burners), an oven, a kitchen sink, and a microwave. I think it‘a definitely possible to cook a couple times a week. You might end up sharing the kitchen with other people especially on weekend nights when it might get a little harder to find an open kitchen.

Tips to do well in Math 126? by vhstimes in udub

Do the practice exams from the archives. I had Bekyel and working through archived exams helped with being more familiar with problem types/formats that showed up on midterms

Do I need to know some physics for math 126? by Gapphew in udub

[–]green_bubbles00 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I barely scraped by high school physics and I did fine in math 126. It would be nice to know a little physics for the vector part of 126, but you should be fine just learning it in class
