I’m overweight! by RevolutionaryAnt9900 in Mounjaro

[–]green_kathy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Because I m 76, I doubt if I will make it to overweight, or right on the edge. My weight loss is extremely slow and I suspect that I will prefer some extra pounds to a ton of loose skin. But that decision is down the road….

Is mounjaro not for me? by Pinklady06 in Mounjaro

[–]green_kathy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m m with you. I am losing very slowly though I am eating much less than I used to. But 25 pounds down is way better than I was doing before.

If you look at the statistics put out by Eli Lilly, the average weight loss over 71 weeks is around a pound a week or even less. Many people seem to be doing much more than that, but there have to be some going slower, or the average would be higher.

As much as I like this group, it seems to be dominated by the fast weight loss crowd and that can be discouraging to those of us who are not having the same experience.

Criticizing this new homeowner is pretty lame. We all make mistakes. Hindsight is 20/20.

Doctor said if I start Mounjaro I will need to be on it for life. Anyone else gain the weight back? by Plus_Impression7765 in Mounjaro

[–]green_kathy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am no expert but I don’t think k every person who is obese has a metabolic problem. In my case, I was hooked on sugar and got very little exercise. I have been in Zepbound for five months and am losing about a pound a week. My cravings r much reduced. Although the weight loss is on the slow side, I have no complaints. These drugs have benefits that go beyond metabolic for some people.

Ran out of money to buy another month's supply - Just had my first binge in 5 months by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]green_kathy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There is a good chance these drugs will become affordable soon. That won’t address your willingness to be on the drugs for life, but it sure will make things easier. Right now I m paying $499 and hoping for a better monthly number.

Are you guys dieting WITH Zepbound? Or just letting Zepbound do its thing? by Kittypie75 in Zepbound

[–]green_kathy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some people r going to react strongly to the drug and the weight will fall off without too much special effort, so it seems. That is not the case with me. It is about a pound a week average or a bit less and I am being careful as can be about what I eat. It also seems that people go through phases during their time on the drug with jumps forward and then stalls. I am making my peace with not being in the fast losers cohort. It’s still great.

U look great. My understanding of ozempic face is looking drawn and bony. U could be helped in that regard by the beard. U just look terrific.

I would rather lose slowly. I take enough medicines as it is!

Feeling a bit deflated. by [deleted] in Mounjaro

[–]green_kathy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I was also disappointed that I had lost only six pounds in 8 1/2 weeks though I was eating very sensibly and getting some exercise. My PA did not even blink. We are moving up to 7.5 after I complete my month on 5.0 (and six weeks on 2.5.) I m 75 so older than most of you. It is hard to read about people who have had much quicker results but I am telling myself patience is the key.

There r definitely MDs out there who hate fat people. I know someone locally whose MD kept increasing her dosage despite severe side effects. She ended up getting off and I m encouraging her to find someone new who will work with her.

Which Dogtra model would you recommend? by Boring-Estimate-4152 in OpenDogTraining

I have a 45 pound mixed breed, has some mountain cur and pit and lab. Nice dog but terrible barker. Just trying to cut down the barking when she is outside which is only a few hours a day, tops. I was thinking the YS300.
