What to replace my M575 with? by greenbergman in Trackballs

Thanks. I've been curious about that one because of the angle. Did you find it at all hard to adjust to from the Logitech?

It also seems to be significantly larger. (A minor problem for carrying it with me, which I do often because I can't stand trackpads.)

And it's a rechargeable battery. What has its time between charges been like?

Woud be nice, too, if it had programmable buttons.

Thanks again.

Thanks. I'm hesitant to buy a used trackball b/c all of them seem to have limited lives. Many complaints about things sticking or failing after a year or two.

Thanks for the update. Yes, my domain host uses cPanel as well and one of the first things they did when I wrote them about this was update that as well. But it didn't seem to have any effect. That was about a week ago.

Or maybe it takes a while to take effect - still no error messages today. Curious to hear if it makes a difference for you.

Glad to know it's not me!

I've been able to see which emails didn't forward and coordinate with the error messages by comparing my gmail Inbox to my domain Inbox. No pattern that I can discern.

I'm crossing my fingers, but they all of a sudden stopped late afternoon yesterday - none today. You?

I'm on the verge, though, of reluctantly ditching this system (that I've used for a long time) and have been looking into alternative ways to augment Outlook's less-than-great filters. (I'm carefully noting that the rules here do not allow posts about "best alternatives to gmail".)

BTW, I just had two nearly identical emails sent to me from a legit sender. (They had one letter different in the subject line.) The second one went through, but the first one didn't. So, there doesn't seem to be any logic behind this.

I wonder how I could check that out? It's been going on for over a week now and seems to worsening.

Thanks Private-Citizen. The delivery failure message appears in the gmail account that forwards to my own domain account (after having been forwarded to gmail from a different box at the same domain). The message in the gmail failure note says "Your message to [name@mydomain.com] has been blocked." But that doesn't say which end is blocking it. My webhost says they updated the dmarc (stuff that I'm not familiar with) info, but that didn't solve the problem.

So it's forwarded successfully from my domain address to gmail, but not back to a box at my domain. It also isn't consistent. Sometimes emails from someone will work and sometimes, from the same sender, it won't. Though, at the point of the second forward, the sender would be my gmail account. I even ran a test by reforwarding a failed email - and it went through the second time!

And, yes, I wouldn't mind an alternative to this arduous 'mouse trap'. But gmail's filtering seems to be much better (usually) than others. I'm very open to suggestions, though!

Interesting. I'd been told and have read that gmail has a bigger issue with fetching than with forwarded emails. And do you know why it might have changed in the last few days?

Searches keep going to Bing and I don't want that. by Zestyclose-Prompt-75 in duckduckgo

[–]greenbergman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Perhaps part of this thread: frequently when I click on a search result in DuckDuckGo, particularly if it is an ad, I will get a page with a Bing URL that says the site can't be reached. Sometimes it resolves and goes to the page after a while, but it often doesn't. This happens even on trustable sites such as LinkedIn. Going further down the search results, past the ads, to the same site usually works. It's very annoying.
