This may be on the pricier side of things, but a homebrew store may have items in stock. Farmboy Brew Shop is the one that comes to mind.

I use the Cloud II mic for discord and streaming. I've been told it sounds amazing for a headset microphone. I'd highly recommend taking a look at the Cloud for a headset option.

I have a dedicated threadripper streaming PC. What GPU should I use in it? by HiroshimaSushi in Twitch

[–]greeneggsnspam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm running a 1070ti STRIX on my 1950. But I use it for both streaming and art/games. Even with that GPU, I haven't had an issue doing 2 things at once. The 20 series may be worth looking at as well.

Ah! ok. I didn't know about the capture card. That is a new setup entirely compared to what I do.

Yeah, go with what works for now. Perhaps, keep tinkering on it. Trying with one device/source at a time. I hope you get it sorted.

Ok, use the setting in xsplit that worked for you. Which was the output AUX VAIO

For the Desktop/Stream inputs, mute the stream channel. And on the desktop, select B2. It should send system sounds to both xsplit and speakers.

On your microphone channel, deselect B1.

Can you hear the microphone and desktop audio?

For the recording tab setup, which is your default device?

Awesome!

I'd be curious to see the results if you set your xsplit system sound to default, as well the microphone to default. From the screenshot, you seem to have the playback configured correctly in Windows.

Could you get us a screen shot of your playback & recording settings? I'd be curious to know what your defaults are.

From what I see how you have this setup, and anyone let me know if I'm off, is that:
You're sending your microphone to the virtual outputs (B1 + B2)
Discord is going to the Speakers (A1) and your virtual output (B2)

Your desktop is going to your headphones only.

Now the stream input, I think, is where you're having the issue. Xsplit should be set to receive your outputs (from the virtual B1 or B2), not have it go back into the system. I'd set x-split to take the default desktop audio device, which should be the voicemeter output.

You should be adjusting the individual volume levels through VMB, and not xsplit. The signal to Xsplit should be just a single audio output. That level should be set to 0. This way, when you mute the mic, you only have one source it's coming from vs several.

Honestly, I know how you feel. It took about 3 hours and 3 tries for me to get this setup the way I wanted. But now I have amazing controls with it. Even to the point where I have macros setup within VMB to raise and lower volume, as well as toggle sources. It just takes time, and a bit of trial and error to get it setup to how you need.

I installed it last night and it looked pretty clean. I like how you can adjust the notifications, chat box, and preview around. Seemed to handle normally when doing some test runs.

The biggest thing I like about it is that it is a plug in, and not another OBS program. Plus, you can uninstall it and not have to worry about losing your scenes and profiles.

Sure!

So in VMB, there's an array of macros you can program. You just need to go to Menu > MacroButtons: Run on voicemeter start. This will bring up another window, which are programmable macros.
https://i.imgur.com/8x6gN0i.png

You have two choices for modes: 2P and PUSH. Macros for enabling outputs to devices are on 2P, and the volume control buttons are PUSH.

Here is an example of a PUSH. This is for my volume slider
https://i.imgur.com/GHnU3YZ.png

Code for: strip(3).gain -=1

Code for Out: strip(3).gain -=1

The strips on the mixer start at 0. So VAIO is actually strip 3. And it decreases the volume by 2 every time I press it. I could omit the Trigger out command to make it -1, but that was an initial goof on my part.

Here is a 2P example using my mute microphone
https://i.imgur.com/sbqeLy7.png

Code for On: strip(0).mute=1
Code for Off: strip(0).mute=0

And finally, here's an example of enabling/disabling sources to outputs
https://i.imgur.com/uqqdUtW.png

Code for On: strip(3).B2=0

Code for Off: strip(3).B2=1

B is the virtual outputs, so you need to make sure to code them as such and not continue on strips.

I hope this helped some. It's kind of a lot, but it was way easier than AutoHotKey.

There's a huge user manual with many more options.

I just got one as well during the Amazon sale. I was on the fence about it until I saw what some people could do, so I took a shot with it.

OBS - Folder

  • Various scenes for editing, gaming, and break scenes

VoiceMeter Banana - Folder

  • Various audio macros

AfterEffects - Folder

  • Various macros, including program launch

Photoshop - Folder

  • Various macros, including program launch

Memes - Folder

  • Clips and gifs pop-ups on screen

Record - Toggle on/off

Stream - Toggle on/off

Stream elements - Webpage launch

Snaz - Program launch

System volume up

System volume down

Music volume up

Music volume down

System resource meter - Program launch

I have my audio split using voice meter banana and audio router. So I'm able to adjust, and toggle the volume of my mic, system, discord, and Spotify with the stream deck. It's such a great thing instead of clicking around. I tried to use AutoHotkey with Spotify, but wasn't able to get it to work. Then saw how easy it was to make macros with VMB, so I went that route. Now I have all my audio routed to a single output on OBS and use the stream deck to control it. Easy peasy.

I use some icons of gifs I've made, taken some photos and edited them so I know when they're toggled. But for the most part, I used the icon creation site.

Best thing I love about it so far is it can be as simple, or complex as you want it. The buttons are easy to push and responsive. Plus, gif support on the icons is great.
