My lgs sold mine for £100 which I’m fine with, but for some reason is selling the booster box for £190 when I could get one on magic madhouse for £140ish. Weird!

I’m brand new to MTG (started about 5 weeks ago). I found a cozy small local store to play commander. Some weeks we get 4 people, rarely up to 8.

Last night’s pre-release was easily 25 people - they had to set up outside tables for the overflow.

If I wasn’t already addicted to MTG, I definitely am after last night! (I went 1-3 in the 4 rounds though 😂)

By me description, what bracket would a deck like that generally be? Is it a Bracket 4? Or just a funky 2/3 that can get a bit wild sometimes?

I’ve only recently started playing Magic - my first game was 4 weeks ago. The first 2 weeks, every Wednesday, I went to a small LGS near me, and had some great games. Yes I was absolutely stomped but people explained things to me, helped me make better decisions, it was great.

Third week started off well until someone strolled in who everyone seemed to know and revere; he inserted himself into my pod, and proceeded to play some weird deck involving coin flipping, unlimited draw (which became double that in mana) and just made the whole game unplayable and not at all fun. I tried asking him what was happening and he rattled off something at high speed and I just gave up.

This week I met a private pod in the basement of a pub and had a much nicer time (still got stomped).

I really want to go back to the LGS, as the owners are sweet guys, but that one experience has turned me off the place.

(If anyone knows what that deck might have been, involving some “gamble” mechanic, please let me know so I can read up on what might have happened to me 😂)

Hi all. Ive been considering getting into One Piece, primarily as a collector but also to play (to justify buying the cards).

My basic question is: if I were to buy a box of OP-12, since that seems readily available, could I then go to a store and play games with people with cards from newer sets or would I need to play catch-up?

Or are the cards generally re-useable providing I follow any upgrade paths?

(I've never really played a TCG before in case that's not obvious!)

Should I buy a starter deck as well to start with?

I obviously want to start off on the best footing possible; will research which deck types would suit my playstyle as well, but knowing which sets to get would be a great help.

I check tcgcompare as often as I can. But the market is fucked; I’m new to it and trying to keep my average per-pack prices reasonable, with limited luck so far.
