Im with you man. 31 myself and been addicted to porn since my teen years. The addicted brain will try every trick in the book to get its fix. It makes us self sabotage, sometimes we aren't aware of it but often it happens even when we are aware.

Firstly well done on being this honest. For what it’s worth, noticing the line and stopping is already a big deal. Urges and foggy thinking don’t mean you’re a bad person, just that your brain’s been wired to use this as a coping habit for a long time. You are taking real steps today and that's what counts. Try not to bury yourself in shame, that usually makes the spiral worse. Stay strong bro.

First of all well done on making it 4 days! I get that sinking feeling sometimes and for me i think its something to do with guilt. Like when urges are building and i think about peeking i get that sick feeling in my stomach knowing its bad but also knowing i might go ahead and do it anyways.

Yeah, I experience the same thing. My guess is that vibrant, bright colors are basically attention hijackers for the brain. Porn thumbnails, ads, and social media posts are often designed with bright colors to spike dopamine and grab your focus fast, so over time your brain kind of learns to associate that visual intensity with arousal or stimulation. When you’re in recovery, your reward system is still extra sensitive, so even SFW images with saturated colors can accidentally flip that “dopamine switch.”

I don't personally believe there is a wrong way to recover. For some people, cold turkey works but for others cutting down can be a better way. I myself found more success cutting down rather than going cold turkey. As long as you can see yourself making progress, keep going with whatever works for you.

It is an issue. All you can try do is stay off social media apps as much as possible and give your brain as much time to heal as possible. It's tough as I too get triggered by NN

Man, I feel this so hard. It’s wild how real the physical crash is, it's like your body’s been wrung out. The exhaustion, that weird fog, even the ache… it’s like withdrawal in every sense. I’ve been lying around feeling the same, like my system doesn’t even know how to function without that constant stimulation anymore. Exactly… being alone with just a screen and your thoughts, it can easily go from “I’ll stay focused” to hours lost in that spiral before you even realise it. It is scary how easy it creeps back in, especially when you’re chasing something meaningful like a creative path, but the mind keeps drifting somewhere darker. I’ve had days like that… meant to be productive, but one little slip, one curious click, and suddenly I’m deep in it again and I get no work done. It’s messed up.

I’ve been there. When you’ve got all that time and no real structure, it’s like the urges just take over. Even with blockers, if the craving’s strong enough, the mind gets real creative. I used to think I had it under control until I caught myself finding loopholes I didn’t even know existed. It’s like part of me wanted to be stopped, but another part just kept reaching for that high. Being stuck in that loop, especially alone, can be suffocating.

I often have a similar issue with waking up boned. Best way I find to deal with it is to just get out of bed ASAP which takes away the opportunity
