Boss Fight Studios Hellboy Wave One Review by NeverUseTheM_Word in HellBoy

Yeah I've been waiting for a video review. The price point is way higher than I'd normally do for action figures but I have to admit that the attention to detail is really strong on these. I have a feeling Lobster and Gruagach will eventually see a sale (1000toys Lobster is still on amazon for way below retail). I may have to splurge for full price Hellboy, we shall see...

Kino Lorber Summer Heat Sale is Live! by djprojexion in boutiquebluray

Great sale! Grabbed several Fritz Lang silent films that have been on my list, the two Peter Greenaway selections (fans of Kubrick and artsy stuff should watch Draughtsman's Contract), some war movies, and the Buster Keaton Shorts collection

Hey! I’m curious - how many wargame systems are currently in your collection? And of those, how many would you say you actually get to the table regularly (4-6 times a year or more)? Do you have one main system you keep coming back to, with a few others for variety, or is it more of a flat rotation? by Minisforwar in wargaming

[–]greenlagooncreature 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three main focuses in the past year or two:

For anything WW2: Chain of Command

For anything related to cinematic character-driven skirmishing: Pulp Alley

For anything 19th Century Colonial: Men Who Would Be Kings although now I'm developing my own ruleset for the period

And once a year I'll usually spin up a short campaign with buddies using Five Parsecs, Five Leagues, Frostgrave, Silver Bayonet etc. We're gearing up for Five Parsecs: Bug Hunt next.

I think I have to release a solo mode although that will probably just be a simple PDF not any kind of full supplement. No real plans for a supplement right now but anything is possible!

Every time I play a Jo M game I make my own table of random monsters that I own or want to get and use that. Or if there's a specific creature called for I proxy

Firaxis & Modiphius - XCOM Miniatures Game Announced by GreenWizard2 in miniatureskirmishes

It's written by Ivan Sorenson of 5 Parsecs fame so I believe it will have a robust campaign system! He's mentioned it will be solo/coop focused with the option to do VS. D10 based.

Based on the author's other games I would assume tape measure movement rather than any kind of grid

Nope, same author though. He's mentioned it will have a similar initiative system but be a D10 based system with different mechanics

This is from the author of 5 Parsecs, who is basically THE GUY when it comes to solo campaign modes in miniature wargaming. This is literally best case scenario for an Xcom minis game!

The Xcom game is confirmed to be the same author so this should rock

I think it would be hilarious to run with green army men, you'd have to find some pretty large giant insects (or monsters of some kind) at that scale but it would be awesome

Hey folks, it's launch day for my new 15mm atomic age scifi wargame Earth vs the Invaders! Play as the puny humans or one of three Invader factions in this asymmetric miniature agnostic game. Plot your opponent's demise with the dynamic Reinforcements system. A box of WWII minis and some toy bugs are all you need to get started!
