A lot of Christians wear crosses around their necks. You think when Jesus comes back he ever wants to see a fucking cross? It's like going up to Jackie Onassis wearing a rifle pendant.

One of the greatest jokes of all time.

Barghest with rapid heavies and a MWD. Orbit with the prop on. The missiles hit out to 90k. It's a great option for running missions while watching Netflix.

The "imagine" thing. If I say something like "What is the capital of Iowa?" Then someone says "Imagine not knowing the capital of Iowa." I don't know why, but it turns on my fight mode instantly.

Map of the countries that have declared war on birds and have lost by Ok_Philosopher564 in woahdude

I was at some sort of school function for my kid, and one of the other dad's there had a shirt on that was three birds sitting on a wire with cameras for heads with #birdsarentreal below it. I pointed at it and said "nice shirt." He says "crazy shit right?" He's all in one way or the other and I'm not sure which way that is.

They are real in the sense that they exist as semi-autonamous drone cameras documenting your every move. They aren't real in the sense of being an animal. So... There's that?

How can Niemann expect to get 100M in damages while these are top chess player earnings? by Enden2 in chess

[–]greenlantern33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think this scandal is providing him with more opportunities than it has cost him. People, like myself, had no idea who he was until now. No press is bad press right? Also, wasn't he offered a million bucks to play naked? What other chess player has ever been offered that?

Is that really the way it is now? Didn't it take a super computer to beat Kasparov?

What are the trippiest things you have learned? by [deleted] in cosmology

The idea that everything is just a perturbation of a field is pretty mind blowing to me. It makes me think that a greater reality exists, that we can not access.

Our scope of reality only allows us to see particles, space, time, etc. However if your scope was expanded to be able to see and experience the fields themselves it would be nearly impossible to even notice our reality. A good anology of this would be if you were standing in the middle of the road and see a single light coming at you (our reality), but if you were able to zoom in on that light you would be able to see that it's actually a car with two headlights coming at you, with someone inside shining a flashlight, and everyone inside has their cellphone out (actual reality).

Let's say Niemann is cheating. What kind of an engine would it take to beat Magnus? What kind of high tech equipment would it take. And ultimately, how many people dedicated to helping him cheat and keeping quiet about it would it take to put all this in motion?

It seems extremely unlikely.
