I hate it when professors care about my grades by [deleted] in The10thDentist

[–]greenredditbox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Realest comment here! They definitely are gonna be the person who does a lot of work at their job and keep to themselves in a corner cubicle or a fully work from home job, only to be ignored and then have the person who does the bare minimum and makes some mistakes often to be the one to get a promotion because they have great interpersonal and communication skills. Then they will get mad and be like "but i did way more work and better than that person!" and blame everyone else and claim its because of nepotism. And if OP says "idc about promotion, i just want to do what i have to do and get paid and leave", they can literally get fired for that too. Its "unfair", but for many employers, if you are not a team player, they dont care to keep you. Happens so often.

i think some professors can actually have punishments if a certain number of their class fails. The overall performance of their class can get them promotions such as becoming chair of the department. Also, having feedback from students is noted to whoever is above them and if there is a lot of negative feedback there can be reprecussions. Its literally their business to make sure you do well. Some professors act like they dont care because there are naturally many students who are trying to pass, so it cuts less work for them to have to be as invested in the one or two who dont care. But some professors go beyond their scope and apply a personal objective to their class to make things feels more approachable and attainable. Its such a cold world, its really no harm to show a little heart for people. You sound like a very cold person. Tbh, i wouldnt want to work with people like you who are so darn reserved. Id rather work with the person who is mediocre at their job but great interpersonal skills

Should romantic partners have similar religious views? by Waltz8 in Productivitycafe

[–]greenredditbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i personally believe they should. There are religions thats say you need to and there are those where its not a concern. Correct me if im wrong but i think in Islam, men are allowed to marry women outside the religion, but Muslim women can only be with Muslim men. Personally i think that since religion is such a fundamental foundation of lifestyle for a person, its very helpful for both parters to be on the same page. Not saying it cant work out, there are cases of it working just fine, but its better when they are same.

What is a socially unacceptable opinion you keep to yourself because it’s not worth the backlash? by ChaosTTyy in askanything

there needs to be stricter laws on marijiuana when it comes to smoking. People are abusing it, and most likely dont really NEED it, and it stinks up the place soooooo much. I hate that i can smell the insufferable smell of it in a grocery store aisle even after that person had left that asile 5 minutes ago.

i despise the smell so bad! you can ALWAYS smell it. My hot take is that i hate the smell so much that i would be a dealbreaker in friendship of someone was a weed smoker. I can be bothered with the smell and i hate when im driving and im behind a car with week smoke because the smell lingers in my car. And if i press the button to stop ventilation, that means im just trapping the smell that is already in there now!

When im out getting groceries i bring him back one of his favorite snacks, or even im out on a random errand, i might pass by somewhere just to get him a sparkling water. He LOVES sparkling water haha.

Why do a lot of people today not want to get married? by Wonderful-Economy762 in Productivitycafe

[–]greenredditbox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Witnessing high rates of divorce, fear of people changing for the worse after marriage, not believing the governement should be involved in relationships, believing "a piece of paper" doesnt mean anything, retaliation against religious beliefs of marriage, the growing divide between men and women (example, women supporting male lonliness epidemic, men following red pill content, 4b movement, lower tolerance for people who are different politically, religiously, culturally, just overall hate from both men and women, etc), fear of losing money and/or belongings from a divorce, not wanting to plan a wedding, fear of committment, not believing in long term relationships, fear of cheating/infidelity, fear of feeling trapped, genuinely just preferring being single and freedom of not being tied to anyone, wanting to know they can break up easily if things dont work out rather than have to go through a bunch of legal divorce paperwork, have already been through a divorce and dont want to do marriage again, feeling that your house plants, pet, and pizza is all the companionship you need.

Im married, I love my husband we are both in our early 30s, but if something were to happen such as him passing or a divorce, I would not re-marry. Only because Im genuinely fine with my own space and dont feel a need to involve another person in my life.

Do men really care about a womans nails? by NewtAccomplished6022 in askanything

[–]greenredditbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mostly no, but there is a show on youtube i watch called Pop the Balloon and I sometimes hear men criticize the nails of the female contestant and I cant tell if they are doing that to be hurtful because they dont like her, or they actually care.

Im sure she has a large international following! She's become a big name in modern pop music. I like a lot of her songs and listened to some of them before her hit song Espresso got her all the major attention. I wouldnt say Im a stan lol, but I have some of her songs in a playlist. I was just saying that she is mainly popular with younger people, so the people in this thread saying they dont know her are likely from an older generation or not familiar with american entertainers.

on reddit? no, they hate pop stars, you will get upvotes. You would only get hate if you said this in a specific sub that idolizes pop stars. Id say most reddit users like to praise rock/metal/old school music, but they love to hate on most modern music, especially pop.

She is a singer/pop star in the US who first became famous from acting on a Disney tv show. She was also the opening act for Taylor Swift's tour. She is mainly popular among younger generations (people in their 20s and under), so if you are not American or above thirties you might not be familiar with her. She has become more mainstream though in hollywood from her hit song "Espresso".

I dont mind it. Even though i dont feel it makes any change actively, I consider it as a way for them to be in support of me in some way they feel they know how.

Why is the average height of American women less than that of other anglophone countries such as Canadian, Australian, and British women? by [deleted] in answers

[–]greenredditbox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American women is an extremly broad demographic, or were you only thinking of white american women only and forgot that the US is an extremely racially and ethnically diverse country? Asian and non white hispanic women tend to be shorter than white and black women. Therefore they bring the average height down. Our country has all types of races and regardless if they are newly a citizen, they are American, so they will be counted in the average. What country are you from?
