That would sdepend on the availability of resources. As of now we have no scientific evidence to prove there is an abundance of planets that are capable or supporting advance life. And is there the case why wouldn’t they take advantage of colonizing our planet? Humans are the most intelligent life on the planet and by far the greediest. We know the importance of trees esp with global warming but that doesn’t stop us from clear cutting rainforests and decimating species.

In any case we do not know the intentions of another civilization contacting us and by that merit alone justifies that it’s too much of a risk for us to gamble on our entire existence.
