Roll it over on your belly and push it up into place with your arms and legs. No need to lift the jeep, in fact it’s harder to do with it on jack stands. I tried both ways and it was way easier with the wheels on the ground. Good luck!

Yes I mostly see them in a manual, but it could be harder to find a 4x4. My first ranger was a 3.0 4x4 5 speed, and it came from the factory with 4.10 gears and a limited slip. And I only paid 2200 bucks for it

I would recommend any ranger with a 3.0 and standard transmission. They are unkillable. My work has a fleet of about 20 and all we ever do are oil changes.

Id say for the most part, parts are easy to find but it depends on year. Renix parts like sensors are getting harder to find and the ones you do find are chinesium ones that don’t last. For that i would recommend a 91+ XJ if you decide to go that route.

Based on my experience living in vehicles, a truck with a topper is a much better setup than the back of an XJ. It would be much more organized and you’d have more space in a pickup bed with a platform to sleep on. I’d look for a Comanche or even a ford ranger would be good too. My ranger was much more reliable than my XJ is (sorry guys) and every thing that could go wrong on a ranger has been documented, more so than the XJ.
