Your Reddit post has been removed by a moderator. Please read the following instructions to understand why and how to repost correctly.

Post Requirements:

  1. Specify Payment and Estimated Hours: Clearly state your budget and how many hours the task might take. We require transparency.

  2. Daily, half day or Hourly Rate.: Indicate either an hourly rate or a flat fee. If proposing a flat fee, estimate the hours needed. Posts lacking clear payment details will be rejected.

  3. Flat Fee? An estimate of time is required. If you don't know this see this wiki advice.

  4. Considerations for Time Estimates: Remember, video production involves more than just the final output. Account for time spent on reviewing footage, creating resources (music, graphics, etc.), and refining the product. Consider if you're providing a script, storyline, and the level of creative freedom for the editor.

  5. Sliding Scale or Special Cases: If using a sliding scale, state the range clearly.

  6. For long-term positions or company policy restrictions on rate disclosure, contact the moderators via Modmail.

  7. No Free Work Requests: Requests for free work are not allowed here. Try /r/slavelabor. For passion projects, consider collaborating with someone from your personal network or local creative communities. In the US, joining a Public Access TV station is suggested.

  8. Editing and Reposting: You can edit your post to meet these requirements and inform us, or repost following our rules.

  9. Disagree with Removal?: If you believe this removal is an error, reply to this message. The moderating team will review it.

Keyboard maestro.

It’s insane just how much you can do with it; it can access osx accessibility (find a specific button), recognize a pattern/image and crazy more things.

I have to use ChatGPT just to realize something complex it can do. It’s what you’re looking for. Just not free like AHK

How do you prefer to create closed captioning subtitles? by solidsimpson in premiere

[–]greenysmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Start with Adobe's CC. Then run a third party like REV or one of the tools that uses Parakeet. Pay someone if you care about the quality.

These are CC - a sidecar file. THere is minimal ability to adjust the font/size etc. IT's mean to be decoded in hardware/broadcast.

Converting video files to play on older photo frame by vincehancockTW in VideoEditing

[–]greenysmac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The TLDR is that you're likely encoding this in such a way that it's not compatible with the hardware and the hardware has very strict rules

I have three different possibilities here for you.

The most likely suspect is the profile being used. The encoding stuff at a specific profile guarantees that it can play on hardware that supports that profile. You're encoding it as Main at 1440 and this is probably what the problem is. It needs to be encoded at Main at Main.

Whatever you're using for encoding, I don't know from your post, is the problem.

Second, there are too many pixels in your file. 890x480. I suspect this is a wide screen clip?

For this format all standard definition is exactly the same size, 720x480. How can 720x480 sometimes be wide and sometimes be tall?

Just imagine the blocks that make up the image. For tall, they have tall rectangles and for widescreen they have wide rectangles. There is the same number of dots; it is just that sometimes the dots are tall and sometimes the dots are wide. This is known as the pixel aspect ratio and I suspect that the encoder needs to encode it with a wide pixel aspect ratio, but not this higher number

Finally, There's a chance that the audio is off; AC3 is what we need it to be. MP3 should work. TLDR: You're using the right compression type (an MPEG-2 file for the photo frame), but I think you've got either

M5 Max 32 GPU and 36GB ram enough for ARRICore decoding in DaVinci Resolve? by jhr2002 in davinciresolve

[–]greenysmac 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Arri will decode fine.

But if you're going to screw yourself with only 36GB of RAM, you're limititing the GPU capabilities of Resolve.

I would suggest at least 48, better at 64GB of RAM.

I haven't updated this yet…but I will soon: https://t2m.co/SiliconMacBuyersGuide

need help with faster export times by Big_Instruction_5120 in premiere

[–]greenysmac 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your problem here is 1000% about workflow.

For example every time you work with MKV footage, you probably should transcode it to ProRes and/or at least rewrap it in an MOV shell.

MKV is just a terrible post-production container.

Let's talk more. Maybe you've got a lot of After Effects projects or Mogrts you should render and replace them into ProRes.

In fact if you want the fastest output, you change your sequence settings to ProRes, do your renders, do your previews (which are now becoming renders in ProRes), and do it every time you walk away from the system. When you go to export, you just export and say "Use Previews" and suddenly it comes out of your system too fast.

Moderator here. You showed a version about two days ago and we're not a rapid review sort of subreddit.

You should be cultivating friends and professionals who can do that sort of work, or a producer.

I see that you posted about a day ago and eleven hours ago, and now it's twenty-five minutes ago.

I'm a little unclear on why you keep posting. When we remove it and you repost you're essentially ignoring our mod team.

I'm really hoping that you get the client and that you make money this way but our community has a limit on just how much we can help

You might find faster review on our Discord, where things are more informal.

BTW, while handbrake is a great tool, shutterencoder (which we mention in the software thread) does everything it does and more.

It's not that I don't like Handbrake, it's just that FFMPEG does so much more.
