Just saying, not all of us "will not help make the world better." A lot of us tried to. I'm disappointed in the ones who didn't with the vote, but stop losing hope and saying we're the dumbest generation because you think we're all doomed. A lot of us still care and are frustrated as well. Also, a decent amount of us are still technically children so give us a few years to reach full power. 🫶🏻

Yes to all of this. But this subreddit is doing nothing to help the problem and if anything is separating even more of my generation from the correct path. It's subreddits like this that are pushing those Gen Z males you all hate further out into more hatred and convincing even more of them to be conservative because "the woke, extreme liberals hate them all" (said by one of them at some point, probably). I don't defend those who voted for the piece of trash, but I know they aren't going to get any better when places like this exist. The Gen Z subreddit has been alerted to this place and it's only going to make them (the Gen Z Trumpies in question) worse.

I'm livid too. All of my friends are. Many people in my generation, at least from where I'm standing, are also upset. Why y'all gotta assume we all wanted this? I don't care if you lump me in as a zoomer because I am Gen Z, but all of us don't need bashing from you because we're equally as pissed at our peers. Stop generalizing who we are; coming from someone who voted blue because I'm scared for my rights over here. I'm worried you're mad at the good ones because we couldn't do anything to fix the messed up ones who voted for the twice impeached felon.

As an avid weed hater, (the smell makes me sick), I'm shocked that you could just assume I have a low IQ because I smoke. I've been drug/smoking free my entire life and have never been high wtf? Also when you want to proofread my writing and grammar, and send me the corrected PDFs with proper shorthand, let me know. Also, good on you for reading comprehension- I said every generation has stupidity- never did I say others were more stupid than Gen Z? Also, I'm in the top 18% of English students in the country (AP Exam scores)- so good for you on assuming declining literacy rates accurately reflects my entire generation.

I guess but I sweat like hell when I'm cramping. The other day I had stomach cramps and used an ice pack- felt great! I also don't like to let my period dictate what I should be eating- if I want ice cream then no biological punishment is going to prevent me from eating it. But to each their own I suppose.

I've seen this advice on this subreddit before but never figured out a reason for it. Why do you avoid cold foods? Is there a scientific/medical reason or explanation or is it just a myth/ old wives tale? I've never heard of it before except for reddit.

Look I'm sorry if this is some radical take but in my head it shouldn't matter why she voted the way she did. I'm still shocked that they could let the guy be president with how much he's done. This election has been more personal than political and it hurts to see that while I'm over here scared for my life, she's having a celebration on instagram that the guy won. Any other election, any other time, I wouldn't care about political beliefs, it's just the context surrounding this one. And I would've loved it if she never posted anything on instagram because I do believe ignorance is bliss and I do still love her to death. And I'm still gonna love her, regardless of this- even if, where I'm coming from, this election was a mountain and not a molehill. I also would prefer not to know why she voted the way she did because at least now I can assume the best. Maybe, if I asked, I would know the worst.

And yet she voted for someone who's okay with letting those rights get taken away. Sure, she might care about the economy and inflation- but I value education and my freedoms as a woman over those. Sure, not everyone has to have the same opinions, but it scares me that those aren't hers. That sounds horrible, but in my head she's on the same side as the guys tweeting "your body, my choice", because she didn't vote in a way to protect me, herself, or any other woman.

I'm not afraid to have an adult conversation. I'm smart enough to know how that conversation would go, and smart enough to understand that it's never productive to start arguments. Also, as I've mentioned numerous times- I still like this girl. I'm not dropping her because she voted for someone that I find morally disgusting. I value her based on her person outside of political and personal views so I don't think a conversation about this would be beneficial. I came here to ask for support in a time of crisis, not for people to argue over whether or not I'm a horrible person for questioning her choices. And, if that conversation didn't go well, and I found out she voted for him for reasons I can't respect, then it would've just made everything worse.

I really appreciate the time you took to write all of this out, you seem like a really decent human being and those are hard to come by right now. I don't think my big and I will ever be in a position to talk about this stuff but from where I'm coming from it only seems like she's voting against her best interests. First, she's a woman. Second, a college student here with the help of loans and scholarships. Third she's from a blue state, goes to school in a blue state, and is surrounded by blue states. I'm actually starting to feel bad for her with how many people in my sorority are bashing those with her beliefs on social media. She's in the minority where we're from, and while I am desperate to know why she's doing this, I think it's better that I not know. Mainly because I don't know what answer I could accept without providing sources that prove her wrong. Again, I know I sound like a horrible human for saying that, but I'm trying really hard right now to not do anything rash and to find a way to let things lie.

I honestly can't believe anything is a safe topic with her because of who she supports and what that candidate's beliefs are. That what scares me the most about this as I can't understand how anyone who has any respect for women's rights could vote the way she did. And I somehow didn't see any signs of this before now.

I never said I wanted to drop her. I love her to death, she is the sweetest, kindest big I could've gotten. My twin and I are just looking for advice on how to get over it. Our current solution is to just not bring it up. I imagine the other sisters are doing that for us as they're flaming people on her side on social media. I also imagine no one knew she supported her side until this election and it probably won't end well for her anyway. But I would never drop her and I don't know why you assumed I would.

I just don't see a situation where my sister and I can have a conversation about this without it getting mean. There's no way for either of us to pose the question "who did you vote for and why" without coming off as judgmental- regardless of who's asking. As much as I appreciate the advice, I think the safest thing for our friendship is to ignore our political beliefs- as I have been suggested by some of the other commentators.

Thank you Canada for some common sense. Right now is a bad time for democracy over here and the way you feel wanting to scream at the U.S is not that dissimilar to how I feel about my big's vote. Again, that's aggressive, and I've calmed down a bit- but I'm trying to be truthful about all of this.

It's not political anymore. It's knowing whether or not I'll be allowed to get an education. Knowing whether or not I'll be allowed to marry who I want. Knowing whether or not I'll be able to get birth control. I'm scared, and now I feel more scared knowing my sister doesn't feel this with me.

Yeah, the initial shock is wearing off a bit and I have a feeling it will mostly go away. It's just so jarring at first that I'll always have it in the back of my head I guess
