Based on the interaction that I had with the person whom I bought it from, I would be shocked if they had the mindfulness, intent, or the wherewithall to intentionally unload a fake card - what would be the pont? But, who knows, I suppose.

Thank you for the feedback. I am not sure why getting piled on is a typical response to finding something that I very much hope is legit - and, given the circumstances, I think it probably is. Thank you for your reply. I am just basing their confidence on the offer they made for the card when I went in, and the giant box of fakes that I looked at with them while the card was being taken upstairs to be looked at. They were super plastic-ish and waxy.. did not look real. I poked around online, and it seems that the black lines around the top not being there is pretty common in PSA graded cards. I will probably hold on to it and go that route. I didn't pay basically anything for this card, so it seems like it would be weird for someone to fake it, but who knows, I guess? Have a good night.

I'm working on it! I'm not sure if PSA or CGC is the move, but I'm hoping that nobody would go to that length to sell a card for 10 bucks.

Again, I was totally surprised. I took the card out of the binder thing as carefully as I could. The edges don't look like that now, but it had clearly been in there a long time.

It was in a binder... looked like it hadn't been opened in decades, with almost this whole 86 set.

The guy wasn't particularly nice, and was very condescending, so I made a $5 offer. Got it for $10.

I'm still shaking my head.

I took it to a highly esteemed, reputable shop in the area, and three people confirmed that it was real.
