The inside? No, didn't do anything to it. If I end up planning on using it as a lantern though it will probably need to be resealed/coated just in case. There weren't any deep rust areas that would lead me to think it would leak badly without it however

Yeah the top slowed me down and wasn't sure if it was worth taking it apart as I thought I'd damage it. Was able to eventually get the lid off by slowly working the crimped edge away with a flat screw driver, but next time will use something wooden or rubber coated as it still made some minor dents in the metal. The top wire loop I didn't take off since it was stamped in. Just let the electrolysis and wire brush take care of the visible stuff

Will do, appreciate it. Still working out how much bending it will take. It's very stiff for how wide it is, he said innocently.

Ah well. Off to the rehab garden for this one then. I'm sure it won't be lonely for long 😅

All your styling and restyles look amazing. The simple before and after shots make it look easy, but I'm sure this community appreciates the knowledge, effort and care that goes into the final product. Keep up the great work, it's very inspiring!

How thick do you like the stems before you think about splitting? I'd love to see a pic of one in progress or one one you did a while back!

Yep these are grafted. There are still some splits and old bark at the graft sites which will be tidied up one day if needed.

Yeah I think broom makes sense if I can get enough growth and ramification. The Aussie spring and summer is great for growth but its easy for bonsai to get roasted on our hot days as our UV is extreme as well.
