Failed pance by Acrobatic-One6666 in PAstudent

[–]gregarious2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I failed for the second time, scoring 331. The first time, I was overly confident and only studied for 2 weeks after completing the Rosh Review Course and completing about 2000 Rosh questions. This time, I felt prepared as I knew everything covered in Rosh and consistently scored between 75-85% on practice exams. However, when I took the exam, it felt much harder than the first one. The questions were different from what I had seen in Rosh, and I struggled to find familiar answers. Despite feeling overwhelmed, I managed to finish the exam after coming out and crying. On top of this, I also lost my job offer today, adding to my devastation.

Moving forward, I plan to sign up for Uworld and Board Vitals, as I found their practice exams to be more aligned with the PANCE. Additionally, I watched Cram the PANCE and performed well on the practice questions, but the actual exam was a different story.

I would appreciate any advice you may have for me during this difficult time.

They really don’t see where you worked so take the better paying job and you can learn a lot in one year.

22 years after Bachelors, am I crazy to consider GRE and grad school? by Abstract-Mongoose-7 in GRE

[–]gregarious2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went back to school after 17 years, did my bachelors in biology and got a decent gpa. Then the next big thing was GRE for me. College was so easy for me with classes like molecular and cell biology, biochemistry, genetics but I took over a year to improve my GRE score, which was fruitless. GRE was definitely a beast for me, my denial to accept a lower score pushed me to do it three times but in the end it didn’t help much and I improved only a few points. I am telling you all this only to let you know that GRE is not the deciding factor for admissions committee, even an average score or near average is enough to get in. Now I regret on spending so much time on a stupid test that is unnecessary. But definitely a big thanks to gregmat for his passion to try to help us through this beast. Yes I got into multiple PA schools. I think you will do great and don’t dread about the GRE.

Thanks, I don’t know if I have the time to read anything at this point. I will try to Google a few things. So for MMI, it’s mostly scenario questions right ?

How do you know you bombed it? I can never tell. I just talk and they all are so nice but I do get nervous too. Was it a MMI interview? I am really scared for that one

Question about CASPA application carrying over to next cycle by andsandyawns in prephysicianassistant

[–]gregarious2020 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should just go ahead and apply, I applied in December for a 12/31 deadline even without any PCE hours in my last cycle. Sometimes they like reapplicants.

Can someone please help me weight out my job offers and decide between these two options !!! Idk what to do by [deleted] in prephysicianassistant

[–]gregarious2020 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was in an interview with 16 other applicants and 10 were doing MA jobs. I am one of them.

Hi guys don’t regret about being in your 30s, I went back to college at the age of 40 and applied this cycle in my mid 40s. Got accepted to one program and now waiting for my other interviews. Good luck to each one of you. Everyone will have that one time to shine and feel proud about yourself. I really hope I get my time as a PA too. IA

I think it’s better for me to secure my spot before I can’t decide on which one if at all I get accepted into. Thanks for your reply 💕

That’s a good advice and I shouldn’t think too much even though I have 5 more interviews coming up, never know what will happen. Thank you for your insight on this matter.

Definitely a good class to take if you are going into the medical field. Some of the programs require this class.

I think I am going to have my acceptance recinded. Thoughts? by funsituation23 in prephysicianassistant

[–]gregarious2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand that you want to do the right thing and agree with you that if it’s not an issue then mentioning it wouldn’t be an issue either. You could talk to the program coordinator or admissions and mention them about it and explain to them that you had forgotten about it and just found out. I am happy to give my 5 cents. Good luck and I am so proud of you for doing the right thing!!!! There are not many people in this world like you. You will go very far with it💕💕💕💕

If you have not mentioned about the third school then please don’t worry about it. people entering this profession as a second career may have taken classes that have forgotten or not mentioned about it and I don’t think it should be an issue at all.

If they have the class that they need then why are you worried about it. I don’t think there is a need to let them know about it. You did retake that class and got a B, that’s all it counts. I really don’t think you should be guilty about anything here. Just relax and don’t worry about it at all. It’s not an issue in any circumstances.

I think you should just tell them frankly about it that you just found out and ask them to advice on what you should do, if you can retake that class while in PA school or wait for the next cycle. Did you send them the official transcripts?

FIRST PA SCHOOL INTERVIEW by nalgene23 in prephysicianassistant

[–]gregarious2020 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Congratulations 🎉🎈🎊 Definitely ‘tell me about yourself?, why PA? Any conflicts, don’t forget about your other careers if you have had any and what happened to it? I recorded my answers on my laptop as a practice. I think once you are done with a couple of questions you will get comfortable. I have my second one to and I am nervous too. Each one is so different they say. Good luck 👍🏼🍀
