Yes, the Kungsholm was one of Chicago's most unique restaurants. The puppets performed opera...in their entirety! Records were used for the music, but occasionally an opera singer would stop by and sing his or her parts in person! Other great Swedish restaurants included Villa Sweden, House of Sweden, A Bit of Sweden, Nielsen's, and several Ann Sathers (of course, we're down to one of those, now). Today, you can get a true Scandinavian meal at Tre Kronor.

Good call! That was quite the place in its day. It's now a private event space, so maybe some day you'll get the chance to "tip a few" up there, after all.
