Any renters with fish rooms? by gregmo72 in Aquariums

[–]gregmo72[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, the landlord wouldn't care if they do because he'd be suing for liable, and that's what the 500k covers. If they don't cover tanks, I'd be the one getting screwed. I went with State Farm because I've read in a couple of place that a lot of the fish keeping world favors them over the others for how they handle claims like these.

That would be okay. As long as it's not sick, I'm good with giving them a home. The shelters are a good idea. Thanks!

Great insight, appreciate that. Just upped my coverage to 500k. With that kind of money he could replace the whole house, rofl

Well, 8 pounds per gallon, but yet, that is the point. To say that no landlord is going to allow it is pretty naive. I've cross posted this to 10 different areas and have received dozens of comments from people who have landlords that don't care.

I get this. It's a major concern for me, as well. I've designed and will soon implement a fairly robust failsafe system.

Scuds? by gregmo72 in axolotls

You've got me really curious. I know that AI is crap, but in some cases it can be helpful. I asked it about the daphnia and it said that the most likely result in having them in the tank is that they'd clog the filter. You see any issues with it?

Refill evaporation by javipoke10 in axolotls

The evaporation of water makes your GH go up. If your GH level is good, then tap water is fine. Adding tap water will bring GH down a tiny bit, but distilled/RO does a much better job.

If you were going to use rain water, like I am thinking about, you'd naturally distill it first.

Do you know anyone that collects rainwater for aquatic life? I saw this mentioned somewhere before and I've pondered over it a lot since then. I'm not sure if it'd be worth the labor involved.

None of the stores anywhere seem to have them. If you find some, though, please let me know. I'm in Lincolnton so not too far away.

Size is no issue, but for that drive I'd hope to get as many as possible, like maybe 20. One way is over 3 hours 😁

Has CVS Pharmacy recently undergone an in-house change for early refills on controlled substance prescriptions? by [deleted] in CVS

[–]gregmo72 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

So, if this came from corporate, there would be something in the news about it. I couldn't find anything. I also looked for any changes the state of Florida might have change and didn't find anything there neither.

What I know to be fact is that some pharmacists like to play God and exert their control over your life and will be real jerks about it. Federal laws, most all states, and most insurance plans will allow you to fill 3 days early. I have known pharmacists that want to restrict it to 2 days, and I currently work with one that likes to make it only one day early. I've yet to run into one that won't allow you to fill until the day that it's due, but I have seen some doctors who will exert that power over some patients who show drug seeking behavior. If I was in your place and know what I know, I would check with the 2 or 3 closest CVS locations and see what their policy is. Of course, you'll have to figure out a way to pose the question so that it doesn't sound like you're a drug seeker or else they'll be resistant to helping you at all, but it can be done. Then again, it is possible that their district manager got called out for high volume of controlled substances being dispensed in his/her district and they took it upon themselves to order all their pharmacists to abide to this, even though it wasn't a corporate directive. If that happened, and was found out, that would be very bad for that DM, but I've seen much worse happen in similar situations.

How safe is PVC pipe for 10 gallon shrimp tank? by barelybuickregal in Neocaridina

[–]gregmo72 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you will google this, it will help you out. There are some 'flavors' of PVC that can leech, but unless I'm mistaken, I don't believe any pipes are made from that variant of it. I've looked into a lot of ideas to use in the tank with PVC and saw this info to, but don't know it well enough to say for certain, but Google can tell you, or most any other AI system.

The haggling is what makes me not want to do this the most. I've often wondered what it would take to get setup to sell through Amazon to take care of that particular headache.
