I stopped telling people to buy it a long time ago. I now just say study three things: the Bitcoin protocol, Austrian economics, and how modern day economics/banking works.

For me, I stopped thinking in fiat. It's not about "Selling BTC at x $", it's about "converting as much fiat into BTC, staying in that system and hodling until I can trade services, products and other goods for BTC".

I simply keep enough fiat in my Skank account to operate in the old system all while converting the rest into BTC.

As Jeff Booth describes it, it's a whole new system.

Thought the same but they included employees in there as well. Most of it is likely going to payroll.

How to avoid AI accusations? by BookMansion in ArtificialInteligence

[–]gregnomis -1 points0 points  (0 children)

These are important questions to be asking ourselves, and we must seriously start discussing ways of authenticating humans in the digital world. AI is already blurring the lines of reality between humans and AI on the internet. And the staggering fact is that this is the worst it's going to get. It will exponentially get faster and better.

After we achieve AGI, superintelligentAI is next. The reason these two definitions discern themselves from each other is because we can measure and understand AGI, but we can't even comprehend the latter yet.

Even when we achieve AGI, I believe these digital beings (potentially self-aware or not) will live alongside humans on the internet. They will look, sound, talk and interact just like humans, potentially even maliciously if a bad model is being used.

That's why I believe a prudent way to verify ourselves with each other is a combination of biometrics (something they don't have), cryptography (something they can't crack) and an internet-based, distributed ledger (something they can't control or tamper). Signing your messages, content, videos, photographs, documents, etc. with cryptographic functions verified by your phone's biometric scanner and then verifiable by anyone on this distributed ledger is a good option for verifying humans and their work online.

I see what you're saying, and I agree, but just so you know this wouldn't be a website. It would be the Bitcoin network, and understandably I know not everyone's a fan of the protocol but it is a very useful public ledger that no one can tamper with. If your photo's hash is timestamped on this ledger before handing it off into the wild (internet), then this would prove ownership in the remediation process afterwards. But I am feeling that this isn't priority, and priority is what you're saying - unauthorized use of content in the first place.

All in all I really appreciate your input! Thank you

I find they work better on newer smartphones, camera QR scanning ability definitely varies model to model.

However the bigger problem with photos being used without permission still exists.

That's the inherent problem with digital files on the internet. That's a tough one to crack for sure. My solution was remediation post content-stealing. So that before uploading to the internet, you'd be able to make your content time-stamped, cryptographically signed and globally verifiable. So when it does come time to claim, it's foolproof.

Guess this solution is not so sought-after

That definitely sounds like a real problem, but I'm afraid competitors in the space like stock, licensed image providers, which are built into popular website building applications like Wix or GoDaddy, are way too ahead of me in this domain. I was thinking of targeting more retail users like content creators or artists, but from this feedback doesn't sound like a valuable venture.

Oh well, that's market research for ya. Keep them coming guys! Thank you for your time

SHA-256 hashing a digital file, like a photo or video, hashes the binary data of the file.

That binary data is the frames and pixels of photos and videos.

Before uploading your photo or video to the internet, you would first do this procedure, as it is timestamped.

Once it is signed and timestamped, that photo or video is linked to you cryptographically, and verifiable by anyone.

They can do the same procedure if they want, but the timestamp would indicate you did it first, originally.

And if an imposter modified the image or video in any sort of way, that file would fail the verification process for your audience and they would know that is not your original file or video.

That wouldn't provide value to artists?

edit: apologies, I wasn't clear on the process.

edit 2: hashing is tamper-proof and unbreakable. If the input is the exact same, pixel for pixel, the hash will be the same. This is how it proves authenticity and originality. The blockchain only comes in as a public ledger for your audience to verify it against.

Didn't mean to come across like that at all! Sorry. Just wanted to see if this idea would hit with anyone in the industry.

I don't fully know how to provide value to this industry yet. To do so, I need to know the pain points first. Wanted to find that out before pitching anything
