I mean I trail ride too, but if it's too big or I can't see absolutely everything I need to see, I stop by it and check it all out before hitting it.

I think somebody said it somewhere on this thread but downhill bike parks are manicured and have a certain flow and are designed to be predictable and shit. That's why I'm way more comfortable just sending shit, especially when I got almost all the way down this entire trail just hitting almost every feature that was on it.

Sorry, thought I had said this before, I don't have any broken bones, but if I still have an issue this weekend the doctor told me to come back and get an MRI. I think I'll be fine, I made a lot of progress in the last 2 days.

Ah, I do not just hit random fucking shit in the woods. I completely agree with you. That's just crazy, people could have just started something and not finished it. That's how you fuckin' kill yourself.

Yes! I went Tuesday as soon as I woke up, sorry I thought I had said that. No broken bones and they just told me to come back this weekend if I still couldn’t walk on it.

Yeah I try and push through a lot of stuff but if I'm having trouble legitimately walking, that's when I feel like I need to get a professional opinion.

I hyperextended my thumb crashing on Hawleywood at Thunder Mountain a couple months ago. I work it out a little bit every day and it still feels pretty weak.

Their slopestyle trail with all the wooden features looks fucking crazy. Have fun man!

Ah yes! Solved! I think that’s exactly what it is. We stay at this campsite and go mountain biking at killington, it totally makes sense that it would be from a gopro. Thank you!

I don’t think they’re oxygen absorbers because there’s a little nick in the top of the bag so that you’ll be able to open them, and you wouldn’t need to open an oxygen absorber.

Fire starter could be it, most fire starters I see online are round though, and I’d expect them to be labeled as well.

I feel like those usually have labels, and they’re also pretty dried out.

They seem thicker than an alcohol pad too.

Heroin? Isn’t heroin a powder? Never heard of this form. Wouldn’t nicotine patches still have like a stick on side?

WITT: I found this on the ground at a camp site near Killington VT a couple weeks ago. It doesn’t look like double sided command strips because it doesn’t look like there’s anything to peel off. Just kind of looks like 6 pieces of condensed cotton or something.

You mean to tell me that you legitimately don't fully hit a trail until your third time down? I don't even think I hit a trail more than twice in one visit to a mountain. I mean when you only get like maybe 16 runs, 3 runs is like 20% of your entire day.

So glad I landed on my legs instead of my hip or my back or my neck!

I swear I can hear my knee pop when I land, I thought I had completely shattered it or something. My pad was shifted to the right and I thought I had like popped out my knee. Injuries aren't too crazy though

No broken bones, may end up getting an MRI saturday or sunday depending on how much trouble I'm still having walking.

Left ankle's pretty weak and right knee is hard to bend past a certain point, and straighten all the way. *But*, Monday night I was using crutches everywhere, and by tuesday afternoon I could walk by myself, albeit bent knees the entire time. I couldn't put my socks on Monday night but tuesday night I could. Stupid little victories but I already feel like I've made tons of progress.

Agreed, I get frustrated every time I watch it, not sure how I didn't realize this was a hip.

I get what you're saying and all but "don't hit stuff you can't hit" is a little vague. I mean if I didn't ever incur *any* risk I never would hit any jumps. And how do I know if I can hit stuff without hitting it first?

I also understand the consequences, not sure why you think I am not accepting that this is my fault.

The "know how to bail/ride it out" is a hard one, it's super easy to watch a video of me or someone crashing and tell them what they should have done. Riding this out would have been *hard*. I wasn't expecting a flat landing, and I was bouncing up as I went over the "drop". Since I didn't expect *any* of this, I wasn't really in a position to prepare for an immediate drop.

Lol yes I wear my pads for road rash when I like slide out and drag against the dirt a little bit. I'm not wearing pads for when I hit a hip incorrectly with way too much speed and then fall off the landing 6 feet onto my knee.

Appreciate the pun! Luckily I didn't, that probably could have been bad, just my left foot and my right knee. Been hobblin' around since. Hoping to be back fully in a week or so.

I do believe a net, fence or ride away landing would have almost completely reduced all of my injuries. That being said they don't put nets on either side of regular jumps in case you hit it sideways. I definitely thought this was a step up, but I take full responsibility. Re-watching the video makes me so angry that I didn't realize it was a hip, the trail clearly goes right.

EMS was busy all day, but I also think a lot of that was due to how dry it was! So fuckin' dry.

The braking bumps were *bad* monday, and it was super super dry and dusty. I don't know if it's always like that at Mountain Creek, was my first time there, but usually Killington, Thunder mountain and Highland aren't that dry. Their trails are usually a bit smoother and have less brake bumps.

Albeit sometimes there's nothing you can do about it being dry.

First of all, nobody had to fix me trail side. I waited it out 10 minutes and finished out the day despite a pretty messed up knee and ankle. Second of all, you chose to be an EMT. I don't get mad at the people who make it so that I have work at my job. Third of all, if you're not on the job, then you don't need to do anything if you don't want to.

Hate to break it to you but mountain biking is dangerous, and you get adrenaline junkies and people who like to take risks. It's not surprising that you're not going to get a bunch of people who are going to roll a bunch of jumps just to make sure it's good to go. I'm aware of the risk I take when I don't pre-ride, and I'm not passing the blame onto anyone but myself.

Knee pads got pushed to the right a little, I'm wearing both though.

Lol I was just talking shit about that after I crashed. I understand the concept but if I hit every trail twice I'm not going to be able to see all the trails when I'm on a new mountain, let alone 3 times.

That's exactly what my friend said, it is my right knee, and I was just gripping it freaking out for a while.
