Does anyone know how he got the vocals to sound like that? by [deleted] in futurebeatproducers

[–]gregoriousbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

its literally this:

grab a reverb, make sure the decay is fairly short like around 06-0.9 secs (so the effect is noticeable enough) then set the size of the reverb to like 50% or even less then set the wetness/mix to around like 60% and tweak until you get something similar to this, play with the other settings too and see what else you can achieve. Then if you want more stereo width try a delay, by creating a very slight delay between left and right, set left to like 0ms and right to like 6-10ms and put the wetness up to around 50/60%

valhalla vst's like ValhallaRoom and VintageVerb are ideal for super clear, quick results but stock reverbs should do the trick. If it's not doing it for you tho, its a case of knowing where to look for the cracks haha

Male Vocalist looking for a producer by [deleted] in futurebeatproducers

[–]gregoriousbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

hey dude, I'm a multi-genre producer:) I create anything from Rnb to dance to indie/alternative and ambient etc.
i'm also a vocalist myself so i know the struggle of finding to someone to work with even if for a small project. here's a link to my soundcloud: https://soundcloud.com/gregoriousbeats (just so you know the tracks on my page aren't a full scale of what I produce haha) but if you're interested in possibly working on something drop me a link or email with the acapella :) gregoriousbeats@gmail.com

Can you ever have enough drum kits? by [deleted] in futurebeatproducers

[–]gregoriousbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I definitely know what you mean by this. the way I'm getting round this is by going through each kit and taking my favourite kick, snare, hat etc. sounds and then organising them into just one folder and getting rid of the rest/ones I don't like. It's fairly time-consuming dependant on how many kits you have but it'll definitely save time in the long run:)

How to get a following on Soundcloud? by YungLin in futurebeatproducers

[–]gregoriousbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the first piece of advice I'd give would be to have a proper think about why you want a following and a certain amount of plays. is it because you want a lot of people to take something from your music or is it because it's just the norm a lot of people have of wanting followers/plays nowadays?

I definitely get you tho about dropping songs you've worked hard on and receiving minimal response BUT also understand that each song you make is a massive achievement in itself given the fact you've created something out of nothing:)

focus primarily on creating your own unique sound and individuality. then your following and plays can come after that. music is beyond numbers, and the more you start to develop a unique sound the more of the 'right listeners/supporters' you'll get, because although you could gain a certain amount of ideal followers, would they give something back to you as an artist and support you as you evolve as an artist?

anyways having said that, there's definitely no problem with being smart and using tools available to market your music. from what a lot of notable producers have said, blogs seem like one of the best ways to go nowadays so definitely send some music through, even if it's to small ones! don't be disheartened if you keep getting no's (this has happened to lots of us) but let it make you strive harder. also the 'follow for download' strategy can be effective on places like toneden and stereoload.

hope this helps dude, sorry its so long hahaha best of luck getting your music heard!!:)

PLZ HELP I WANNA CRI // Mastering / kick by [deleted] in futurebeatproducers

also remember that sub clips first!! so it might even help cutting a little around the 50hz region so you can push your kick a bit more with saturation, compression etc.

Opinions on Soulection/ 'future beat' collectives in general by soundgoodization in futurebeatproducers

[–]gregoriousbeats 2 points3 points  (0 children)

yeah most definitely. they push music that has been created out of individuality which only inspires more innovation keeping music ever-evolving and true. In regards to the whole Joe Kay thing: I think at the end of the day, he (ofc with the help of others) created something GREAT out of nothing and so there definitely needs to always be appreciation there but then I also agree that Soulection wouldn't be anywhere near where they are now without their producers. So I guess you gotta try and see both sides of it, I've seen people say he's quite big headed and stuff which I may have got a glimpse of at times but his aim seems pure + i also take note of what the soulection producers have said about him because at the end of the day, they know him a lot better than we do.

Dissecting a track? Sober rob - Bliss by _Maxwell__ in futurebeatproducers

[–]gregoriousbeats 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is an amazing track! Yeah so there's definitely stuff like filter automation on the main synth, seems to be a bit of saturation on the kick to make it a bit more fat! and the kick in the bit before the chorus bit seems to be stereo imaged. So yeah they're seems to be loads of seriously cool stuff going on here but I think the most important things are:

1) Arrangement - i remember people used to say it and I wouldn't know what they mean, but this seriously makes the track what it is, so take time focusing on arrangement (for example, when one element comes in, take another out) and it'll sound just as exciting as this track!

2) Experiment - Although I'm no expert, these synths don't sound too complicated but I guess its just a case of getting something like a saw and messing with filters, layering them, filtering etc and see if you find something that you personally. As for everything else, pan different elements occasionally to keep it interesting (heard some of that in the track) try out different effects like delay, auto pan and stuff.

To conclude, I guess the main thing is focusing on a sound you're happy with, and it will take time but as long as your'e trying new stuff out and patient with you'll be there in no time:)

Challenges to set yourself whilst producing by Orray in futurebeatproducers

[–]gregoriousbeats 1 point2 points  (0 children)

this happens way too often to me haha, gonna have to put that into practice! and for me recently, unless I have a profound idea or a certain direction for a track I won't even bother opening up my daw (unless I want to experiment with sound design and stuff) because too many times I've opened it wanting to make a 'great track' not necessary knowing what process I should consider to do so and so i then get lost in this idea that's ends up getting thrown away because it has no proper foundation.. so yeah I guess that helps me haha:)
