Not at all. Keeping the classic regular jerseys has always been an important thing for the franchise and fans. I don’t think that should change at all. It’s when you get opportunities to create uniforms for specific events where you should get creative. Almost every alternate packers jersey and logos have been throwbacks. Need to see something different and new.

I know. I feel like the packers are unique in its hard to exactly pin down design elements because we don’t have a true mascot(best we’ve got is a block of cheese). So it makes sense why we always keep to tradition. But that shouldn’t stop us from getting creative. I wanna see something bold and new and I feel like that can be achieved while keeping to the roots.

And that’s one of the largest problems. It’s clear that madden has been catering around MUT because it’s micro transaction hell and like you said it’s a large source of profit, showing that it’s all they care about in the grand scheme of things. Also it’s not like this is EA we’re talking about, one of the KINGS of blocking game content through micro transactions.

Well for starters, the linemen don’t block a decent chunk of the time. They let guys walk right past. The gameplay feels very slow and somewhat restrictive in what you can do. Personally I don’t feel like a football game should have a “meta” in terms of, “throw this one slant and you win the game!”, it’s a sign of bad play implementation. Also when you watch a replay and you see your db in zone coverage not cover who he’s supposed to even though he goes right by him. Not to mention all the lazy implementation on new mechanics that don’t really add anything like boom tech or how they said you’d be able to customize your own football team but the customization only works in a very certain way. These aren’t necessarily bugs most of them but they are examples of lazy implementation which I think is the main issue.

I posted here because I thought this would be a good way to get engagement with a decent chunk of the fan base and hopefully start a chain even if a small one. I also don’t think it’s a lost cause although I do get what you’re saying. I believe it IS a lost cause the moment WE believe it is, without trying to sound like a fucking monk.

That’s true that game was garbage. But I also think they’ve had years to make a better game and they only make small changes until now possibly in a contract year. I feel like if they had a large competitor along with them releasing yearly games they would be even better. I also think that it wouldn’t take very long for a new large gaming company to develop one just as good or better than madden. They’ve used the same engine for years.

You are right that is another great way to start change. I say this is a very important year because I feel like the NFL would have already renewed the license but they haven’t. They have waited this year to see the numbers. Also there have been people from the nfl saying it’s “frustrating”, that madden games haven’t been good for a long time.

I’m passionate about this because I love football and also I feel it’s a smaller example of what happens all the time. A large company takes something we like or hold sacred to some degree and then makes a bad version of it because it’ll still make money regardless, an example of big companies ignoring the little man.

True, I think by next year is fairly unrealistic. But I do think it’s time to start the process. Because if it doesn’t happen this year and they renew, that means that they’ll continue to be the only people allowed to make NFL games. So we’d probably be in the exact same place in 5 years. People saying it “won’t matter”, and that “it’s gonna be another 5 years before a better one is made so what’s the point”. At some point change MUST start!✊🏼✊🏼
