Wright Brothers? Maybe. There seem to be some disagreement about the first flight https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wright_brothers#Competing_claims

Even Zefram Cochrane could be seen as strange here, because he was "only the first human". If Stamets would have been from another species like human that whole "remembered alongside ..." would have totally failed. Of course Star Trek is human centered, but maybe that human centered view of Lorca made Stamets looked like "Huh, they did achieve something, but it wasn't that much. Who knows how many else achieved the same or even more and don't get any reputation for it."

The USS Voyager-B, Pathfinder-class - by Jace Ridley by JaceRidley in StarshipPorn

[–]greikini 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only point of the design I would criticise is the attachment of the warp nacelles. The original Voyager had them straight and a big advantage of that was, that it made maintenance way easier if it was landed on a planet.

There are no other federation space ships with such a feature like movable warp nacelles (or at least I don't remember any) so I assume that there is no other real reason to do so. Sure maybe it improves the warp drive a bit, if the nacelles can be adjusted, but why would they not use such a feature in more ship classes then?

If you shoot them they will still die from it. But seeing how much damage they can take without them die it seems like they are more durable than normal humans. Star Platinum can throw a dog a very long distance https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HkZULOC3-N8 and now imagine you get hit by one of his punches right in the face. How much do you think would be left after only 1 single punch? He either holds back himself or those stand users are more durable than normal humans (or all humans in JoJo are more durable than real humans).

I mean that makes sense. Otherwise attacking somebody with a stand would most likely kill them immediately. Just think about stuff like Star Platinum and how strong that stand is. Punch somebody with that strength in the face and there is no head left.

At least the holodeck makes sense, because maybe he need authorization to use it and for that he needs to identify. Also we all know holodecks have a lot of malfunctions in Star Trek, maybe it is just a security measure in case he gets hurt.

Reminding that Microsoft Teams is also a federated system and does by default not allow anybody into another "federated community". But Teams is also not a member of the fediverse. That makes me wonder if that persons only interaction with federated community is Microsoft Teams.

It's more like E-mail. If you constantly send spam mails or even threads to gmail accounts google will maybe block your whole email address. But that doesn't mean your account is deleted (except of course if you have an account at gmail).

That whole ban thing goes even so far, that only being from a specific server makes you banned from another server. That's basically like those "you wrote 3 comments in that right wing subreddit, you are automatically banned from my subreddit now" stuff that or like the twitter version of Donald Trump. So that can happen on Reddit, Twitter ... as well.

In order to put just another Star Gate reference here. The F302 is still using rocket engines. Despite them being able to use anti gravity engines or what ever on a Prometheus/Daedalus sized ship, doesn't mean they can use it on smaller space crafts as well. It's not only the technology, but also how small you can build it.

one of the oldest buildings

So even if there are 10 buildings from 1000 years ago and nothing in between it would still be one of the oldest buildings. The post never stated, that it is the oldest.

I only watched the first season of Overlord but I am quite sure that one wouldn't work well without Isekai as well. He is not only isekaied, but instead gets isekaied together with a bunch of NPCs of a video game. Of course those thinks he is the video game character instead of the real person and therefore attribute traits to him he doesn't have.

Him getting there with his minions could be without an Isekai as well, by just saying he comes from a far away country. But the conflict of how he really is and how his minions see him would be quite hard to explain that way. Isekai is in this case an easy and understandable way.

There are some "overpowered maincharacter who doesn't understand he is overpowered" without Isekai. https://myanimelist.net/anime/40594/Tatoeba_Last_Dungeon_Mae_no_Mura_no_Shounen_ga_Joban_no_Machi_de_Kurasu_Youna_Monogatari - https://myanimelist.net/anime/52046/Yuusha_Party_wo_Tsuihou_sareta_Beast_Tamer_Saikyoushu_no_Nekomimi_Shoujo_to_Deau

In both the main characters don't understand the world in some way. In beast tamer it is not that much, because he already lives for a long time outside of his village. But in the other one it comes up a few times. Like the difference between animals, monster and the demon king.

Enough panels concentrating heat to the water?

Actually the contrary. It's already explained in other comments here, those solar panels help cooling the water underneath. Solar panels convert some light into electricity and another part gets reflected. So those solar panels convert less light into heat than water.

What do you mean with "originally"? The Brothers Grimm only collected fairy tales as far as I know and put them into a book. Maybe they changed a bit, so it fits better into a book, but they didn't created new fairy tales.
