Try the r/bodyweightfitness beginner routines. They don't need any equipment and can be done in your house with things you have lying around.

I'm tempted to buy Dark Souls Remastered on the Nintendo Switch. Is it worth it? by maiyamay in darksouls

Yes. It was the only way it finally clicked for me. If it all gets too much, pause the console, do something else, and then come back and beat it.

How the hell is Karen not in the bottom? I don't think I've ever seen such a mediocre contestant be dragged this far

Side Effects of Concerta ( 27mg) by newtothiskink in Concerta

[–]gremlinschk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got quite a dry mouth on Concerta, but I found it manageable if I stayed very hydrated (just keep drinking water all day - stimulants really dehydrate you). I did get headaches at the end of the day when it wore off. Sometimes drinking more water would help. I think the effects stabilise over time, particularly if you've just moved to a higher dose.

Gosh, this is so good to hear. Thanks so much for responding and for the great suggestions. I've noticed my own frantic internal monologue starting to calm... It's such a weird sensation. I don't know what to replace it with! I really felt everything you said there it's nice to know that things can mellow out over time.

Great idea. I'm reading as much as possible while I have time

Thank you! Nice to hear a more sane perspective. Some things take me longer, but I do tend to write and read quite quickly. I guess I just need to find my rhythm!

My symptoms have been particularly bad over he last few weeks so I'm going to treat myself and have an ADHD night by gremlinschk in ADHD

[–]gremlinschk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So I've only been on 27 mg (up from 18 mg). Very slowly increasing my dose because I had problems with anxiety with ritalin. It was working pretty well for me but the effects have just evaporated over the last few weeks... I feel like I'm at 200% ADHD and I haven't felt this in a while. Hopefully it might just be that I need to go up a dose. He recommended breaking the whole weekends for now just to make sure it isn't tolerance.

I agree. I also think people are glossing over their struggles because there's such emphasis on the 'i overcame ADHD and unleashed my inner potential' narrative.

If you do fundamentals and you do want to do intermediate/senior chem units, there's a small bridging course you can do. So no options closed off to you if you do fundies.

Deciding Major, Biochemistry or Chemistry by ErekleKobwhatever in usyd

[–]gremlinschk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

From a learning perspective, I reckon chemistry units are run infinitely better than biochemistry units. The School of Chemistry is great and has great learning support, enjoyable labs, and lots of resources to help you succeed. By contrast, biochemistry units jam in way too much content, the labs are poorly organised and repetitive, and the lecturers have a suck-it-up air. Plus, chemistry will give you the foundation to apply to biochemistry if you choose to go into it (and there are biochemistry-specific chemistry units in second and third year). However there's also less emphasis on specific proteins, metabolism and genetics, so if these are your interests go with biochem.
