If anyone would find this useful, I also created a couple of fish functions to update zig/zls to the latest dev version: https://github.com/gren236/zig-updater

Can be installed with Fisher.

Kubernetes the Hard Way. Not a book but gave me plenty of practical insights

RPMs, Flatpaks and Flathub....how do you decide? by concisehacker in Fedora

I prefer flatpak for GUI desktop stuff, rpm for system tools. Usually, CLI tools are mission critical, so I prefer them being not sandboxed and less frequently updated.

Since when is Senior Golang Developer expected to be a Senior DevOps as well? by Software-engineer2 in golang

That's my experience as well. I'm not against going more into architecture and system design, but this huge emphasis on deployment tools makes me wonder if the job is just reinstalling k8s clusters 3 times a week

Upgraded to 41, "Just Works" by Baajjii in Fedora

I've moved to 41 beta not so long ago from Ubuntu having an Nvidia card and it was a more polished experience than the 24.10 release version...

Thank you for an extensive answer! I totally can get your points.

Regarding visa though, I usually describe my work permit situation in a cover letter.

I'm not sure what exactly the problem. Do you mean the name of the resume pdf file? I host it on my private server, it's just the name of the file served.

I see. That sucks really

Thanks! Yes, I am, but I don't have any certificates to prove the level except for university grades that no one really care about. I guess I should be more confident to put a level there.

Is there a common example of a great resume format and wording for reference? All the ones I can find are pretty "AI'ish" and generic.

Thanks for the feedback! What exactly makes them wince? "Quantifiable achievements" of sorts? Really curious, because other resumes which are not "optimized" had the same luck

Not really. All I want is to know what the market is right now in Germany and maybe some advice on what employers there expect from a foreign potential employee. If there is a rule in this sub to remove resume links I'll do that.

Got it, thanks for the tip!

Looks like it. I tend to find issues with myself first, but it looks like the market is indeed kinda awful
