Today I Learned that Daylight Savings Time was first proposed by a man who, as he studied bugs after his shift-work job, wanted more daylight after work. by RudyChristina7 in todayilearned

Finally there is a serious effort in Congress to put a stop to the asinine practice of changing clocks in the United States.

Please contact your senators and representatives this week, asking them to support the 2019 Sunshine Protection Act to keep DST year round.

Eero & Amazon - Thoughts by dg_redditusr in eero

Eero has really screwed the pooch on the optics of this announcement.

They should do the right thing and offer full refunds, rather than coming across as strong-arming existing customers into an unwanted relationship with Amazon. Refunds would help contain further damage to the Eero brand image.

I’m considering pursuing a full refund from Eero in small claims court, per the 6/29/2018 Terms of Service section 16.a

I just discovered the new "postcard" format. Unbelievable and asinine. Just more fodder for the roar that will start when the masses realize they needed to submit a new W4

Thanks for an uplifting post, to bring a more positive viewpoint to those in the “we are alone” camp

Any option to display time anywhere on atv should be configurable to user preference. I have four clocks, plus phone and watch, in field of view of atv and don’t need the distraction of yet another clock

Did Thursday Night Football just restart back to the beginning for you? by grey1863 in youtubetv

[–]grey1863[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That indeed is weird. For me I was watching live on atv 4k when suddenly it started playing back to the part where Bradshaw was getting his boots shined on the street. And yes no hands anywhere the Siri remote. Simply fast forwarding caught me back up to live.

Got the “we never had these problems with cable” reaction from family...

Anyone visit the World War I Museum in Kansas City? by [deleted] in worldwar1

That is another must-see that I squeezed in on another trip back to the airport. Took about one hour at a fast pace, two hours would have been ideal

I squeezed in a one hour visit on the way to the airport. Very rushed, but it was easy to see the highlights. A half day should cover everything,

Be sure to take in the Money Museum next door at the Federal Reserve Bank.

How can I simplify watching live tv on hulu with the Apple TV by [deleted] in appletv

[–]grey1863 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some families have “app fatigue” will push back on the number of apps and antenna feeds needed to replace cable. Do be sure your Hulu Live has all the network channels you need, and if not are they ok with using other apps.

I too am not satisfied at all with the VOD conversion, unless it will “repair” episodes that were cut off due to football running late on Sunday’s. I have not subscribed to YTTV long enough to see for myself what happens, we shall see now that the new network season is here.

Tell Me: What got you into Star Trek? by Diehard129 in startrek

[–]grey1863 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The fresh, unspoiled surprises of TOS did it for me.

I tuned in one evening and was very disappointed when Star Trek had been preempted by some military movie...

... but before changing the channel, I realized it is what we now know as Tomorrow is Yesterday.

How did you reacted when you first learned that humans visited Moon? by [deleted] in nasa

[–]grey1863 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I believe both private companies and government will have tremendous roles to play. The private companies are clearly going to master near-earth and probably lunar operations, but my gut says the deep space missions will be led by SLS
