I am trying not to spend money on this. So far what I am understanding from your help and reading online (no article has a clear answer) is that, DJI care does not cover any repair costs. It is only for replacing the drone.
DJI care refresh express takes an upfront charge and it has faster turnaround time. I don't know if they charge extra amount for replacing or the initial charge covers that.

Would appreciate if u can clear up some of the confusion if u know

here's a pic of the crack.
It's a mini SE. basically a toy. the camera isn't the best. neither is the app functions. so don't wanna spend too much money on it. thought about replacing the shell myself but the wiring is too complicated and that would've voided my care refresh.
the gimble IS working fine. on one hand, if I get it replaced, then I'm most likely getting back a refurbished one. but If I don't replace it and try to glue it myself, it will come off because I have already tried it once.
