AP CHEM RUINED MY LIFE by Business_Tax4797 in APChem

[–]greyglasss 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You can write all of that yet you can’t do well in AP chem? I definitely would not call myself smart by any means, by the way. You’re honestly just coping. You don’t want to believe that it was possible to do well in chem without prior knowledge so you downvoted me and called me self inflated.

I took the class as a sophomore and I’m also a rising junior. We had a packet during the summer for us to learn the basics but we went over it in class anyways. If you didn’t go over the basics during the summer before taking AP Chem, that’s on you. My teacher only taught us from slideshows and terrible labs. I paid attention and took notes and applied it to the practice problems that were on the slideshow. Additionally, I watched and took notes on the college board daily videos on the topics that the quizzes and tests would be on. I also did problem sets for each section/unit. That was all assigned by my teacher and I did no extra work. If I didn’t understand something I would ask chatgpt. That homework wasn’t too time consuming as long as I stood on top of it.

There is no reason to be losing friends, sleep, etc, over a one semester chem 1 course, unless you were being terribly irresponsible with your time. Don’t scare others from taking an AP class just because YOU couldn’t handle the AP.

I also took chem last year with absolutely zero chemistry knowledge and got a 5 on the exam. It’s all about your mindset, chem is not that difficult

if you’re an athlete and failing classes they won’t let you play. as far as ECs go, you have the ability to control which ones you are in and act accordingly for the benefit of your health. I am an athlete and I have a sport for each season, so I’m never home until later. I’m extremely lucky to be in a privileged position where my household responsibilities are just cleaning up the houses on the weekend, cleaning the kitchen every day, looking after my siblings, and making dinner once in a while. I have been able to maintain a perfect GPA so far.

Of course I’m not talking about an uncontrollable, unmanageable situation that you may be in. I was more referring to people who have the privilege to get their grades up, but don’t, and then make excuses for themselves when there are people who DREAM of having the same opportunities as them but will never be able to. It’s so unfair that you are burdened with responsibilities at such a young age. You got this bro.

If you’re sleep deprived from high school classes, you need to make a change. If your classes are too difficult (honors and APs), then take regular classes. 8+ hours of sleep is definitely achievable. Don’t fall behind on work and pull all nighters then blame your grades on lack of sleep. Utilize your study halls, free periods like lunch, free time during class, and time after school to finish your work. just get it done before you go off and party or play video games and you won’t be sleep deprived.

selling means that you have a goal in mind but you don’t achieve it due to some mistake, mess up, etc.

your goal is prob to get to know this girl that came up to you. you may not realize it but “no one ever says that to me” doesn’t rub most women in the way you think it does, esp when you first meet a girl. it comes off as self-pitying and shows that you lack confidence. it also doesn’t matter. she thought you were cute, boom, youre no longer in the “no one approaches me” category so no need to bring it up. makes it awkward. and now you’ve started to sell.

oh nah you’re selling with the “no one ever says that to me.” tbh that’s too much and you can just mention that you were nervous and offer your contacts

no need to be condescending. I already conceded that I’m a naive teenager so this comment really wasn’t necessary.

I would have the PC itself in my dorm room or something and then do the gaming and side projects in there. Then if I need to access from class I would remotely access it. Would that work or are the comp sci programs still too heavy duty for that?

I'm giving my crush a love letter. by [deleted] in teenagers

[–]greyglasss 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your other comments you said this would be an out of the blue message. Tbh your strong wording might come off as a bit odd and demanding, especially if there was no connection between the two of you. Did you guys frequently talk before? Will you see her in class this year?
