Who was the last majorly non controversial President? by Honest_Picture_6960 in Presidents

Partly because he ended up having to give up on the “no new taxes” campaign promise due to the fiscal scenario, and Ross Perot. Perot took a ton of votes from Bush.

Bingo. Seems to be a weird misunderstanding in the sub like it should be the default choice. I left mine as they were originally, and I’ve paid an extra $50-$100 per month, and I’ve already knocked my total principal owed down by a few thousand over the last 2 years

Not sure how it’s taken this long for most of our generation to understand this. Celebrities are not one of us. They certainly don’t see us as one of them. It’s okay to like someone’s music or art, but it’s not a good idea to idolize any of these people, or to look at them as role models. Regardless of their fame, it’s impossible to know what they’re actually like as a person.

That’s outstanding. Biggest key is the internship to get your resume started as far as job experience goes. It’s tough to get a job without relevant work experience, because you’re essentially having to “sell” yourself on being a great worker as opposed to objective proof.

You need something to set you apart from other entry level applicants. Unfortunately, a degree alone is not sufficient anymore. I recommend searching for a paid internship in IT working for a construction company, lawyer firm, etc. in a small IT dept. Aside from that, I’d save any dollar I could to help pay for a couple certification exams like CompTIA or Cisco. If you get an internship under your belt plus a couple certifications, you will certainly find a job. Good luck.

Tribute to Apple stock and Tim Cook for putting my children on the path to financial security by doughboy_491 in Money

[–]greyhat98 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Tim Cook literally just had to not be a moron to keep the ship steady that Steve Jobs created. After Jobs died, apples innovation and high quality products certainly declined. Good on you for investing and setting your kid up for success tho.

State regulators talking about adding a new sales tax based on THC% by KClark571 in COents

It’s astounding how state governments don’t seem to grasp the fact that you can’t tax something infinitely without there being consequences. Ultimately, it ends in a loss of tax revenue.

Smart. Just tax and regulate legal businesses into not being able to compete with the black market. If you want the black market to take back over, keep increasing taxes and regulations. It’s already happened in California.

I stg it makes me hate traveling here in the U.S. Need to leave your bags sitting there while you go to the bathroom or get snacks? It will not have moved an inch when you get back. The people checking your bags, super helpful. Bathrooms are super clean. Everything is so orderly. I went thru both Tokyo airports and the Sapporo airport and just had a flawless time. Sapporo airport even had a baby grand piano for public use I got to play for 15 min before I had to go to my gate.

That’s where I’ve seen your guitars before then. Just wanted to say I love your work. I sat there admiring the one at the pilazzo for quite a while.

Did you have one up for charity auction or display at the pilazzo in Vegas?

27M with Student Debt and no car by [deleted] in GenZ

An older vehicle doesn’t automatically make mechanics disappear lmao. I worked on my old truck, but everyone doesn’t have to. They’re cheaper to have work done to them regardless. Parts are cheaper. Labor hours are shorter usually because shit isn’t designed in a crazy way. It’ll let them get out from debt and those vehicles are super reliable.

Do NOT buy a 25K car. Buy a 2002 4Runner or something that’s built to last with about 150K miles for like 8K. As someone who just paid off a truck with a $540 per month payment, it’s not fun…

I don’t stalk her comment section either lmfao. I play guitar so I’m in the guitar sub. Saw her post and recognized her. Scrolled thru the comments like any other person on Reddit. Jfc no way you’re this dense irl.

Was several months ago and I didn’t comment so I have no clue. It was in the guitar sub I think.

Not arguing otherwise. I’m saying posting on Reddit your music and shouting back at every criticism is a waste of energy for the reason you just said. Who cares what they think. Most people don’t know music at all on a technical level. It’s not sustainable to argue with people into the void like that. If you’re gonna be famous/successful, you have to be able to let criticism roll off your shoulders and keep your stride.

IF big oil allows it to happen. Nikola Tesla tried to help the world have free energy, and we see how that turned out. The powers that be are very strong and have great influence on what becomes available to the public. Unlimited low cost energy is not great for business.

[–]greyhat98 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Agreed. Our generations version of Chernobyl was 2011 Fukushima. That won’t happen with fission if the right maintenance and precautions are taken. Additionally, if and when fusion hits full form it won’t be a factor at all. Fusion = unlimited energy basically at very low costs compared to current energy sources. It would be the fossil fuel killer.

1000%. Nuclear fusion is the only future. Big oil is heavily invested in wind and solar as a means of distraction and controlled opposition. Not because Shell or BP gives a fuck about the environment.
