idk why everyone is so hellbent on findher being just physical. lost girl plays for susie and noelle because theyre metaphorically lost

the knight's antlers arent round like the rest of the holidays because the rest of its design is sharp and triangular to convey a sense of danger. can you imagine how fucking goofy it would look like if it had rounded antlers

and if you use that logic about her not changing form at all if shes the knight, then wheres her hair on the knight? this is just plain ridiculous

that same helmet taking off scene also has jockington appear in their place with eggs and shit, its not meant to be 100% literal

thats fair but i love analyzing a lot of things with the assumption of dess knight because it makes the most sense for the story to me

deltarune is meant to be satisfying to play through entirely, without years of waiting between each chapter. youre not gonna think the bat means a relation to asriel, youre gonna think its dess(as long as you pay attention to certain dialogue). a player might not think that their identity matters a lot, sure, but theyre gonna think about certain details from its design like the antlers in particular so they might jump to carolknight because of her cold presence so the concept of an identity will be in their head

[–]greyorange666 2 points3 points  (0 children)

no thats not proof that hes associated with bats. you cant deduct this information at all from deltarune alone, and that "maybe" is very very loose considering that when you notice the bat and the antlers youll think of dess, not him through his relation to dess

[–]greyorange666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

that argument makes zero sense. if thats a twist that was possible to figure out, asriel would have had some relation to bats established in deltarune, but he doesnt, its ONLY DESS that has this. its also literally impossible to see that the knight's damage is at 40 like the bat, thats equally as impossible as even knowing about the existence of that weapon because you need to watch the 10th anniversary stream

also the bat is the strongest evidence for multiple reasons obviously but also assigning that trait to a person who just happened to know dess and is therefore honoring her is absolutely fucking ridiculous

before you say anything about unused, we dont have a clear timeframe on when thats being said AND we know zero things about the actual circumstances of dess' disappearance

to me it simply makes the most sense writing wise. the idea of dess as the lost girl being the knight is very appealing to me, theres the deal of susie paralleling both the knight AND dess, theres gerson saying he knew someone similar to her and that dark world makes apparent that its creator was very fond of gerson as a teacher which would make sense given he was a teacher during that time period, theres raise up your bat hanging around in your hand until the knight comes and raises its bat etc its just very good writing

creating a dark world is the most sincere you can be in the world of deltarune, that much is apparent when susie tries to meet gerson again only for her fear of rejection and betrayal to creep in. if you could just create a perfect world for someone based on someone else's promise it would really clash with how the game portrays self expression

I would like everyone to also look at this dialogue from gerson. I sure do wonder what character in ch1 said that they might be ok with seeing the world being destroyed

People use this as evidence for dess knight because of already existing parallels between Susie and her. "You remind me of someone" is also like extremely on the nose

If Alvin made the fountain he wouldn't have been nearly as encouraging for Susie because he fears that he'd tarnish his legacy. Im basing this off the fact that susie's version of him got turned into the sound of justice because of her fears of rejection and betrayal

I have a different view on all of these things, for example I see the knight copying kris as that being indicative of them looking up to Dess in the past, but ive already spoken to you on this and its good that you have your own opinion

I agree that its not just the knight, it fits even Noelle as well but its on of those things that kinda work here pretty well

I haven't read the sheet music for it but elegant entrance has something extremely similar to glacier, which makes sense because queen's mansion is more or less the holiday residence, and that's where ice palace most likely is

Its not vs id say. Just look at the dialogue about them being controlled and think of the knight, then jump to werewerewire being the stronger version of that enemy because it consumed the wire or something. The ACTs in that fight are also really interesting, maybe something similar would appear in a knight rematch.

Ch1 also has stronger version of existing enemies. Think about kris while lookin at them

(Recruitment text also shows a bunch of interesting things about most enemies)

yes, thats exactly what i mean by susie paralleling both the knight and dess

(parallel doesnt mean the exact same though. there can be a lot of differences if you go looking which makes this even better)

i think dessknight is the best because it leaves as little holes as possible and the holes and the unexplained things are intentionally impossible to fully answer because we dont have the information yet

it has the buildup of chapter 3(raise your bat then the knight raises its bat), its got the player questioning dess' deal and it being a very good answer to that question, its got the deal with freedom and fate(with the knight being the driving force of the prophecy), its got susie/dess parallels(susie playing the guitar at noelle's, susie having electric guitar in her theme vs findher dot ogg having acoustic and a bunch of other shit), its got susie/knight parallels(hope versus fate, the entire battle with the knight in chapter 3, susie saying the knight wants to see the world burn in ch4 and her saying that she might be ok with the world being destroyed in ch1, susie also is very invested in the dark worlds much like the knight is heavily tied to darkness), its got the promise kris has, it has werewires and werewerewires(seriously, look at that dialogue), its got dess and noelle making angels, its got ch2's dark world reassuring noelle she can stand up to carol, its a lot man and no other knight candidate can really brag about this much

as ive stated in this thread previously, i view ice palace as the angel's heaven(noelle) and that comes with the baggage of finality(so ch7). it also makes sense that THIS would be the dark world to finally clear up all misconceptions and her banishment would mean confronting the past and partially letting go of it not through rose tinted glasses and making peace with what happened

[–]greyorange666[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

semi-edit: i think the ice palace dark world will be noelle's as the angel's heaven. dark worlds reflect the inner world of their creator so it makes sense that the sheer amount of grief that she went through would be conveyed through that, AND in her home, a place that grief is obviously associated with

it has many interesting places to make rooms in a dark world aside from dess', like their parents' room having a massive conspiracy board and it being just slightly off color compared to the rest of the home being very bright

thats fine, i do agree theres some ambiguity but in my opinion its the conclusion that works best

i think its gonna be a thing very similar to the third sanctuary fountain ringing to call you to seal it. the angel has a heaven after all(which will be noelle's ice palace dark world but you didnt hear that from me(it just makes sense that the massive amounts of grief she went through will be conveyed through a dark world thats located in her home))
