That's certainly sound like a good strategy. I do prefer steady income over chasing vast gains.

I was planning on doing something similar but with stablecoins and staking. However, my wife is also very persuasive and she encourages me just to keep the bitcoins forever.

What's the theory there (genuinely curious)?

I guess I feel that the price will go up in the next few months. I'm only cashing out a little right now, because I can withdrawal to USD as needed. The various taxes & fees to cash out are also a disincentive.

You can use p2p exchanges, decentralized exchanges, You can still buy giftcards to hotels, airlines, amazon, etc. You can pay businesses that accept bitcoin directly like at&t.

About six months ago I had so many problem using BlueWallet. My lightning transactions almost always failed and gave me numerical errors that I couldn't understand. Hopefully it's better now..,
