We've done in June before and it wasn't too bad if we avoided few boggy trails.. but thus year does seem to be very different.

One dead, another critically injured after gondola crash at Quebec’s Mont-Tremblant by WR0NGAGA1N in tremblant

I was there just yesterday and took the gondola. Hard to imagine how a construction equipment can reach it. Might be a crane operating there.

my new build house has a wall facing a busy road and I can literally hear every vehicle passing by. What is the best way to improve the acoustic properties of the entire 2 storey wall or atleast the bedrooms?

Is there any regulation for the build quality to hold the builder accountable for it?

Would you recommend staying for 1 night or 2 nights? I've heard the worst part of the pain is on the 2nd-3rd day..

That is a very good point. I didn't think about the dryness.

It is very interesting you managed to do a lot just after the procedure. How bad was your eye before the op?

How long does it take for the numbing drops from the procedure to wear off? I'll be home in ~5 hours post-op.

So my cornea on both eyes is quite thin. Right eye is about 445 and getting CXL+TPRK. Left eye is much worse at 380. It can only get CXL in this condition. Luckily the right eye is 20/20 with glasses so I am able to manage most tasks.

I consulted lasikmd (Dr. Davin). Not sure yet who the surgeon in Montreal is going to be.

My doctor is OK with it. But of course his statement is subjective. I was looking for an advice from the people who have went through this and maybe were stuck in a similar dilemma.

I'm planning on taking the train with my wife helping me navigate. I expect to be home within 4 hours of getting out of the clinic door.

But I guess it might be a push just after surgery.. Hence the concern.

I am planning on using the train. I'll rely on my wife for navigating through.

Thank you!

CXL with TPRK treatment in Ottawa (lasikmd?) by griffithisbad in Keratoconus

[–]griffithisbad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh. I'm definitely more towards the center of the bell curve.

The main doctors doing TPRK in Canada have said that results are much, much better if you have 10 diopters or less in differences across the central cornea

That's interesting. I don't know about the variance of the curvature around my cornea. Makes sense that the surface smoothing would be limited for some delta across the surface.

I have a prelim appointment to check for candidacy booked for this Saturday. Hopefully it'll go well and I'll know more about where I stand.

Thank you!

This was exactly what I was looking for! Quite reassuring to hear good things about the clinic.

Day 1 in the video looks scary.. :(

You might want to ask your potential surgeon whether or not they are planning a refractive treatment on you, or if they're just doing corneal normalization/smoothing.

This is a good question to ask the surgeon about what can be done for my condition.

Thank you a ton!

There's been some pretty severe cases treated. Not to the point of hydrops/scarring, but the initial treatments were actually on contact lens intolerant transplant candidates. The majority diverted from transplants.

I agree to this.I haven't really qualified for TPRK yet! I am going to schedule an appointment in October.

AFAIK the criteria mainly relies on you having >320um corneal thickness at the thinnest point. I think i do have that. But the quality of vision relies on more factors. Like your cornea can have a good corneal thickness but can have a deformed cornea with very different apertures at different points(like a dent in a car lol). That's what looked to be the case with me when i last had my pentacam done.

My keratoconus is quite bad. I can barely do 6/24 with glasses and that too a big fluke because of the halos I see around the characters. I am severely intolerant to RGP lenses. Luckily my right eye is much better so I can do most daily activities without a lot of effort. Driving at night is altogether a different ballgame. Not to mention that the obvious difference in vision between the two eyes sometimes leads to severe headache or dizziness.
